She certainly looked like she was "struttin her stuff" around that ring.
You Go Deb with that black girl in the show ring. There needs to be more people willing to step outside the box in order to bring forth change.
"Will THE REAL German Shepherd Dog PLEASE Stand Up".
Very nice girl, congrats to both of you, Jen and deb !

"She was going to show her and her friend Jimmy Moses told her not to bother, since she's black."

Pshaw!

Well if everyone decides to not bother then they will never get rid of the stigma of "wrong" color.

True, Nadeem, but when it costs thousands to successfully campaign a dog to AKC champion, and no one else is willing to jump on the bandwagon with you, is it really worth it when you can show UKC or SV or whatever other venue?

I should add that this woman is BIG show, not local show folk. Her standards are higher- she breeds another breed and is always at Westminster. So, her point of view is a bit different than most. She doesn't want to show for fun. She doesn't think it's fun anymore, lol, and wants to just work her dog.

Somewhere I have a pic of Jimmy showing a WGSL...surprised he didn't burst into flames!  LOL!

LOL. I don't know him at all. I only hear of him through this lady. She doesn't ever use his last name; it took me a few times before I said "you mean Moses?" She looked at me like I had 3 heads, like "who else?" She's an older woman, been friends with him for eons, I guess. She got disgusted with the structure and health of the Am. lines as time went on. She hadn't had a GSD in a looooong time and then I approached her about a puppy for my son and told her about my GSDs (most breeders of her other breed wouldn't sell to me because I had big dogs). I brought Anza (Capri's daughter) and her puppy with me to go look at pups at her house and she bought the pup on the spot (I posted about this awesome little"oops" girl a couple years back)and she's been in love w/her ever since. I was a nervous wreck, selling a WORKING LINE black puppy to this lady. Her home looks like a storage facility for Westminster and other AKC awards. That world is foreign to me!!! Red Smile

Anyway..........back to Dolce and her impressive finish, LOL! I actually think she looks adorable strutting around that ring. I bet her placements will improve as she matures.

She's a good looking pup!  Solid black shows every flaw...but it also shows every attribute!  So far, I think Boy throws some nice pups with good structure and really nice heads.  We'll see how they grow up but mine has some damn nice temperament!

I think he did well for what I wanted. I wanted more manageable than I had been getting. I mean, more manageable by "normal" people with good common sense- a calmer dog while still keeping good work ethic and a sense of seriousness.  I do think I got that, thus far. There were  a couple pups who were more user friendly than in the past. As far as structure, I see "prettier" structure- the diehard working folks who think a dog must be ugly to work may not like them, but I know better Wink Smile and I like it a lot. Boy and Capri are very similar in type- solid, substantial, good angulation without being roached (IMO). They are both dogs w/good brains, too. I think Boy's structure solidified the type of these pups, as they are so similar- less chance for wild card structure.

I am going to sell Dylan, but I have to say I'm thoroughly enjoying him while he is here. His good nature while not being a pushover is easy to be around. My show friend was REALLY impressed by him. Her trainer is a douche, however, so I refused to sell him if that guy was going to work him, LOL!  He's a super nice puppy- loves kids, isn't mouthy with them AT ALL, yet has plenty of drive for toys, balls, etc., is territorial, confident anywhere I take him (I bring him to work sometimes), loves obstacles, never messed in the house or crate, is quiet all night....just a great puppy. And cute, too! I might be biased. If he has a flaw, he barks too much. He's quite the alarm/watch dog. And he sounds huge when he barks. An intruder would probably lol at seeing this little puppy after being scared half to death. The other boy who went to FL (the one who looked just like Boy) has a bark like that, too. His new mom said if she heard that bark and didn't see the dog, she'd be climbing the nearest tree. He would be great for someone without close neighbors who wanted a deterrent.

Here's my son (shirtless, with marker all over him...stellar mother that I am) telling a big fat lie about him:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEVfZSiWNmI

p.s. He does NOT act that hyper for more than 10 mins in the house, when he first comes in. I'm not THAT bad of a mother.

Thanks, Aaykay. I'm still waiting on the new IPO training pics of Dolce. She wouldn't want to let her brother horn in too much on her thread. Shades Smile
