If you are going to refund him why does he have to wait till dog is sold? Just courious. You already have his money.

Cmills, this is for you http://science.howstuffworks.com/nature/climate-weather/atmospheric/question302.htm

Why does he have to wait??? Well that is what we agreed on.  He dedided to purchase him a good while back.  I turned other people away.  I did not scam him or make a mistake.  So that is just fair.  I could on the other hand insist on him taking the dog and selling the dog himself or charge him boarding fees but I wont do that.  He tried to make a quick buck and it didn't work out.

So you would rather drag this out than refund now and be rid of him?

Yep, because I stand up and do what I tell you and follow through with it.  He decided to slam my name.  Should I just pay people if they threaten me just so they shut up? No way. I was not raised that way.

I would rather bite the bullet and consider this a lesson learned. And in future dealings both parties put everything on the table. This is what happens when we assume!

Guess what?  We just worked things out between us privately.  Have a wonderful night everyone and God bless

so just out of curiosity, and to try and get something positive out of this discussion, or to learn something new: what is the regular deal when someone pays and backs out? I assume penalty fees for cancelations are always mentioned up-front, right?
