Hundmutter, this was the only post to the other thread.

Mr Darcy - I'd written it and pressed Send; got a 404.

Guess I'll just have to repeat it !  Never mind, thanks for looking.

hisblue  -  this is what I was trying to reply to your post:

I really can understand why you feel you should defend the breeder of your
dogs - but it really is 99% likely that you have been taken for a 'mug'.

However, don't just take my word for that.  Welcome to this board - now you
have joined it, please take some time to surf around it.  You will find many
comments and threads from lots of experienced and well informed members,
of whom Abby is only one.  Quite a few of these posts will be about the damage
to the Breed done by people who specialise in producing the fancy colours,
because so often they ignore other important elements, such as genetic health.
There are several hereditary problems,  the couple of kinds of Epilepsy that are
genetic is just one example,  where these have been left in breeding programmes
because someone wants to 'fix' the unusual colours and coats in their lines.
Which is heartbreaking for people whose dogs then happen to suffer - or die -
from those illnesses.

Mr Darcy - remember taking off a post from blackfurbabe because it violated TOS,
1.22.11 ?  Guess which breeder that was about ?

Give me a proper black & gold with a nice black mask & saddle anyday, standard coat with good ear carraige & a tail that does'nt curl up - thats what a German Shepherd means to me.  I also prefer to see them walked on a normal lead & collar without a muzzle or head collar - they area an intellegent working breed after all & so should be able to manage that.

@hisblue
I believe what I said in my post was that you were a very nice couple and that you were trying really hard with your dog.  I said to you that my girl would only possibly 'have a go' if another dog went for her first, and my boy would not, but would be very respectful. My dogs sat peacefully to help you with your boy, and I was happy for them to do that. So whilst I appreciate you are annoyed that is one thing that you can hardly hold to be true. What I did not want to do was to let her get within lunging/snapping range of your dog because if she felt she was under attack she may feel the need to retaliate.

Nowhere have I put any 'nasty vindictive comments' unlike yourself. Your boy is very dog aggressive, and I don't think there is anything I can say to damage his reputation, especially as no-one but you and I know who he is or where we met!

I do however have an issue with this breeder, not you personally, as anyone who knows anything about GSDs will.  Your breeder should have discouraged you from having littermates, one of the first rules of a good breeder, then I doubt you would be having the problems you are having now, although... from information I have subsequently received, that may be more inherited temperament than a socialisation issue. I said to you I had heard of Kintonkaiz. She was not the breeder that I thought had imported the liver bitch, but looking through her website, yes I did remember quite a few things about her.

The colour of the GSD she has is liver, not chocolate. Chocolate is a term used to make it sound more appealing to the uninitiated.  A ploy to make them sell better - that is all.    The breeder herself has referred to having produced epilepsy.

There is nothing that I have said here that isn't true. As Hundmutter has said, breeders who set out to breed for oversized non standard colours do so for one reason only, and it isn't for the good of the breed. You will more often than not find health problems within the lines, and this is usually why you will not find pedigrees on the websites. We have been discussing the sad story of a dog called Meerdyke Machkt on here. Maybe you should read it.  He is one of the reasons I made this post, because they all tie in.  I am sure this breeder has a very *good* reason for getting rid of a number of dogs, there is only one person that knows the real reason.  You might want to do a lot more research on this breeder, and find out some of the trouble that has gone on in the past...... Nobody wants to believe that they didn't make the best choice of breeder, I understand that, and there is little point in trying to tell someone that once they have their dogs.

I do not understand the belief of some that if there is ever a difference of opinion, it must due to jealousy. That I just don't get.

If I have an opinion on a breeder I do see it as my right to discuss it on here, and I am sorry that you don't like it.

Linda
Thank you :)

Thing is I was very impressed at how hard they were working with their dog. Just not with their breeder!

You seem to be taking great delight in your witch hunt against this breeder.  All breeders can have problems during their breeding its called nature which we don't funnily enough have an ability to control.  I researched before I bought the boys have met all her dogs and will not have petty small minded people have a go at someone they do not know and know nothing about.  The big white GSD on the web site is 13 years old and one of the healthiest dogs I've ever seen.  And for the record my boys mother is a blue german shepherd with a masking gene making her fur white and she does have blue eyes I've seen them myself and before you say oh then she was still a puppy she was 3 when she had this litter - her first.  Like I said before I cannot believe that you took a simple meeting in the park and felt the need to put it on a site like this I now know what celebrities feel like when they have things written about them in the press!!  It just seems that you have nothing better to do with your time than try to find things wrong with other people I am outraged that you have done this as is my husband.  Would you like to have a pop at the sheep farm our collie came from next?  Try looking at puppy farms and pet shops and leave this breeder alone.
