Also, I was told that the deposit was refundable since delivery could not be arranged.

Delivery was agreed upon for a fee and I have also offered to come pick the dog up. They are refusing to let me come get the dog and had previously agreed to return my deposit, so they should keep their word. At no time was this a 'non-refundable' deposit, though I am aware that they typically are. It was agreed that this was refundable and they are backing out on their word.

WOW!! I also do not like to let people over to our house I do not know.  Is it really safe to allow a total stranger in your private life by entering your premises?  Most people are sincere, however like Samika stated there are the ones you just don't want them to know where you live.  I personally have had someone come to our house to look at puppies.  They were so sure they wanted one.  They spent the better part of 2.5 hrs with us and playing with the puppies.   They left without taking a puppy because they claimed they couldn't make their mind up. They also said they would be back in a few days, whicj would have been Sunday.  I made the mistake of saying we would not be available on Sunday morning.  That Sunday we went to church and we we got back, there were 2 puppies from that litter gone. I called authorities and they asked of anyone had been to our house that we suspected.  We did not suspect them at all, because many buyers can't make up their mind when confronted with a litter of cute little teddy bear looking GSD puppies.  Nothing unusual for any breeder to experience, right?  But I did tell them anyway about the couple and their 2 kids.  Ha! 4 days later I recieved a phone call, they found my puppies.  They were brought to the vet and the vet called the PD.  Those INNOCENT looking people stole my puppies.  That is a VERY GOOD reason not to let anyone come to your house. It is best if possible to meet with the puppies and their parents at a public park, if at all possible. After this experience, that is MY opinion!

Not sure why it is that people put so much emphasies on others things before the actual dog or puppy. I have been to some pretty crappy kennel setups that surely didn't look the best, but the condition and health of the actual dogs were excellent.  Some of my best dogs when I first started off, came from some pretty crappy looking kennel setups, but that didn't affect the actual dog or its ability to be an awesome animal.

What happened to honesty and a hand shake as an agreement, or "My word is my Bond" days...  Things were so much less complicated back than. Just my opinion!!

i am sorry you dont keep someone elses money and refuse to let them have the dog. give her the money back if you dont want her to have the dog. It is that simple. YOu don't want her at your house to come pick up the dog? Give her the money back.

I personnelly would not buy a pup from someone who would not let me see the litter at there kennel unless they came very highly recommended.  Always be VERY careful who you buy  dogs or pups from. Do they currently work there dogs or title them or did they just buy them and breed them?. Are there animals clean and well kept? do they show good health and fitness on inspection? Do they have both parents on property?. Read the fine print and get it in writing or a recording.

Now that you have become a nuisance, bad mouthing and bashing them on a public forum, of course they aren't going to agree to sell you the dog or let you come to their property - why would they?  You have burned your bridges with them.  And also given them a very good reason why they would not want to do anything to "make you happy" like returning a deposit that they do not have to return.  If you had remained friendly, professional and polite, and kept your rants off of this public forum - then I'm sure they would be more than willing to discuss the return of the deposit with you.    Sellers can change their mind, if they decided not to sell the dog to you, that is their right to do so.  If they backed out of the sale, then yes they should have returned your deposit - until the point that you started your bashing campaign and started threatening them - calling animal control probably didn't help matters either.  Kiss your deposit goodbye and move on.

While I agree the excessive posting and complaining would be ranting. Why is it not ok for someone/anyone to post their experiences with a particular person/breeder/kennel? Is it ok for some to "bash" and make smartass comments to people trying to learn new things, but not ok for a CUSTOMER to share their experiences?

Delivery of the dog was supposed to take place 11/1 and I have been waiting patiently for the return of my deposit since then. I posted this forum yesterday AFTER being cussed out by this man's wife and being told that I could not have my deposit or the dog. I did not take any action against these people until yesterday.

The initial breach of agreement took place by the seller......the second agreement at the show was derailed by the show cancellation(how this translates into being the buyers fault is ludicrous), which since this is neither buyers or sellers fault makes the situation revert back to the first agreement....which seems to be if you cant deliver the pup then send the deposit back as previously agreed. I have not read any bashing from buyer,( other than topic line), just a recitation of the situation. Truthfully, at the point the show was cancelled the seller should have called the buyer and informed them of what course they planned to pursue at that point since they had the deposit and the puppy in their possesion. Thats what I would have done, thus not requiring things to get to this point.JMO
