Ha ha, tell us how you REALLY feel!  Perhaps German Shepherd Myelopathy (not DM) is unique to GSD's, but there is NO reliable test FOR GSD's.  It's worse to spread a false idea AS IF it were true, than to reject an idea that proves nothing.

Maybe I was a bit harsh but at least you know where I stand.

I guess I will call my attorney and sue the OFA for fraud since they are taking money from people for a bogus test. I just sent 2  2 year+ HD/ED tests and one preliminary and 3 DM DNA. Clear on all DM.

I mean that is what your telling me correct? That their test is a fraud and does not prove anything?

They will come up with more and more tests because thats the new revenue stream. It's like the Dr say's i have to pay for the machine so every patient gets scaned.

DM clear n/n does NOT mean the dog will never get DM

Exactly but why breed two dogs that are carriers? Your only improving the odd's that they will throw dogs that are pre disposed to having it.

Who's advocating breeding together two "carriers"? I must've missed it.

So this has come to the animal world too. It's like that quack who said that children vaccines were causing autism. Look where he is today.

I feel the risk vs reward of vacinating the animal is worth it. Sure, there could be a something wrong with the compound. For example the NECC company who produced products with fungal meningitis that has killed a lot of people but what happens to the overall health of a soceity that does not immunize for Polio? Same with Parvo in areas where it prevails.. There is no difference.

I don't recall that ever being stated by me or anyone else. I was simply saying that if you test and both are carriers don't do it.
