Inasmuch as the governments in the Eastern Bloc countries were nothing more than puppets of the Soviet Union, the Soviet Union would have had control of all so-called programs.
I am not speaking to the culture, I am speaking directly to the point of government control.

You have no clue what you are talking about which is quite obvious from statements like: " The same (?)government who couldn't quite manage to keep track of their nuclear weapons?
Are you actually saying that Czechs had any influence on control of nuclear weapons of USSR? Your claim is akin to silly statements like :"... because USA is in control of Iraq, then the Iraq has the same ability to keep records like USA and Iraq has influence on control of USA's Nuclear weapons."
FYI. Every country in Eastern block was under general control of USSR . But I assure you that dog breeding practices in Czech country and how they kept their records was not influenced by USSR but it was direct result of Czech psychology and culture ,which I assure you is quite different from psychology and culture of USSR. Also keeping records was quite good all over the commie system during the time communism was in power. Since you referring to loss of nukes I would like to alert you to the fact that it happened after the collapse of the system in USSR if at all. I would recommend you to go visit Czech and today Russia before you make any other comments here on this topic.

You know how the system worked and so do I as we have first hand experience. Anyone else just got it from hearsay. I lived only about 15 miles from the Czech border; Usti nad labem was just over the mountain. I think Prackovice was pretty close to Usti. Loved to go there around Christmas to buy goodies. Some of our pups we traded for oil sardines, Becherovka, and those nice chocolate ornaments one could hang on the tree. The folks from the border patrol were really nice. Most of them spoke german as so many did right across the border. Memories!

The fellow peddling the line that the lack of account of the Nukes after the collapse of the Soviet system, as some kind of hit against the Czech or Hungarian record keeping on their dogs, just took the cake....I have heard the same lines (Eastern peds being worthless etc) being peddled by this fellow over several past occasions, which was effectively the talking points pushed by the west.
Bottomline, time to acknowledge the fact that we ought not to comment authoritatively on things we have little to no direct knowledge of....and move on.

I think the whole premise of the thread you started (as opposed to "your thread") is subtle cultural bashing, if I am not mistaken. Trying to tangentially tar dogs from a certain part of the world with illegitimacy, by purportedly quoting statements from a breeder. All of the subsequent responses were directly related to the original post, where the original premise has been systematically ripped up by people providing feedback directly from the regions in question.
Bottomline, cheating can happen anywhere. Even right here in good ol'USA......or in Germany for that matter. Sticking to legitimate breeders will ensure that you do get the dog/pup that you wanted to buy and not something with fake papers. The legitimate breeders have got a reputation to protect and very little to gain by falsifying records.

"...if I am not mistaken..."
you are completely.
"....Trying to tangentially tar dogs from a certain part of the world with illegitimacy..."
wrong again - that is yr paranoid interpretation, some things are just meant to be taken as they are written - there is not a hidden agenda to every single statement ever written.
"...by purportedly quoting statements from a breeder.."
i did not mention breeders name to avoid politics, i was am interested in the wider validity of thisopinion as it was made by someone born there and raised, promoted, trained and bred these dogs for their entire life.
one thing i have learned about gsd people they are the most precious and fragile little souls. personally i care nothing for the concept of breed purity, breed registries, and breed standards. it is the source of all evil in all working breeds and is mainly just there to secure an income.
yes the gsd is the breed of my choice but when push comes to shove just give me a dog that works which is becoming the immpossible task in the breed i have come to love, but i would ditch them in a heart-beat if i can't find a way above the monumental and epic BS that is part of owning and trying to buy a decent one.

My point though is, cheating is everywhere, there is no one source solely known of it, such claims degrade a certain type of dog which is not a good thing to do and is wrong and not true, it isn't nice to put down all the hard work which was put behind record keeping of eastern GSDs. I did not question your intentions and thus I said "SUCH A TOPIC ........"
It is not my intention to offend you at all
Mentioning medications, I have a muscle with bad strain
