Why, Brittany? I'll tell you why. It would cost a couple of tanks of gas to return the dog, and no one in this dispute will be able to recoup that cost. This is not rocket science.

I have an idea that could solve this whole thing. Neither party trusts the other. So, get a third party to hold the CERTIFIED check for $350 and the SIGNED AKC papers. When both are received, the third party can then send them out to the appropriate people.

joanro, I was about to type that exact same thing. That is about the only way. How to find the 3rd party is why I didn't. Couldn't come up with the answer. Vet? Police Dept? I don't know.

No trust so neither is going to go for whoever each other brings up. Probably won't believe if it's someone on this forum they are not taking sides. It is a hard one. I feel for both.

I thought the issue here is that LTS doesn't want to pay the $350?

Ok, LTS just had a litter of pups? And Cesna will buy Farrar back.So the monies from the pups LTS keeps ? Sounds like LTS comes out pretty good.Even if they don't have papers she can get 500 to 700 per pup.

Let a lawyer hold the check and papers. Then of course, some one has to pay the lawyer.

LTS, while I did say that in my opinion the charge was high, in your situation I would of paid it, been mad at myself for not clarifiying it before hand and chalked in up
to an expensive  lesson learned.

LTS-  it is up to you to decide if you want the papers on your dog or not. If so, pay Cesna $350 and be done with it.  If you don't want the papers, or to give the dog back, then let it alone. It has already been established that AKC has processed the papers or it wouldn't be showing up on their website!

"beetree: Why, Brittany? I'll tell you why. It would cost a couple of tanks of gas to return the dog, and no one in this dispute will be able to recoup that cost. This is not rocket science."

I highly doubt that Donna nor Cesna are that poor that their incapable of donating a couple of tanks of gas to finally put to an end of this saga for once and for all. For the love of god I'm not rich, and I don't own VA dogs nor can afford to buy these top ScHH3 dogs, but if I had to fork over money for 2 full tanks of gas to finally end this choas it would be well worth it. Sometimes you have to cut your losses.

Right now I'm worried about Farah. She deserves better. She doesn't deserve to be treated like a cash cow by popping out puppies, and thats exactly what Donna had in mind when she bought her. She could not wait until she had her AKC papers... she needed to breed her NOW not later but NOW inspite of not having her AKC papers in her hand.

I can only hope that the anti breeders aren't reading this because they will be having a field day for sure.

Brittany, I would have thought the same thing. It seems really silly if this is just about some gasoline to get somewhere, or finagling a free delivery. The biggest problem is, these two never had a meeting of the minds, apparently. They were both so interested in their goals, sell a dog for one, and buy and breed a dog for the other, that the finer details a "professional" would have covered, were ignored.

I do agree with Betty, too. It is a lesson to be learned. The cost of the lesson is $350.  Not like that will put anyone in the poor house, is it? Again. Silly.

I too wonder about Farrah. That she would have been/is the cash cow really isn't what seems to be bothering the seller or the buyer. She's just been demoted to the "B List" is all, without papers.

LTS, on the otherhand will probably be singing sweetly, and ducking and weaving to her buyers, the one's she's already promised papers, prematurely. Are they bought and sold already? Trying to get most breeders to fork over money for whatever reason on a return is an upward climb, steep one too, as well as a repeat story. No wonder LTS wrote in caps. It would be a dumb thing to do, to breed a bitch without the papers and to charge a papered price.  If I had bought a puppy from anyone, and they came back to me with this sob story, that they got hosed, so I should share their hosing, well, that wouldn't sit right by me, at all.

And Cesna's offer to take Farrah back and return the purchase price, was a good ploy, perhaps, because it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out, if she wasn't going to forgive the cost to deliver the dog, she certainly will never offer to pay the cost to reclaim the dog.
