Best of luck everyone!

Have to say though, I'm rooting for both Iron and Figo!

The chances of an all UScA team with one judge from each organization and the GSDCA/WDA being the host this year are close to zero. I predict a 3/3 split or maybe a 4/2.  On the other hand IF the USA team is !00% UScA you can put the last nail in the coffin of the WDA as an Schutzhund/IPO group.

The WUSV is the "poor countries" world championship for German Shepherds doing IPO from the WUSV member counties.  The real GSD world championship is the BSP and the real world IPO championship is the FCI where the Mals generally kick the GSD dogs butts and ironically many of the top Mals come from Germany too.  In essence the WUSV is the Germans fighting with one hand and usually winning.  If the representation at the WUSV was based on dog quality and/or dog numbers the Germans would have 10 teams and the USA would have one team.  Most of the dogs if not all representing the USA at the WUSV will be European bred dogs and most will be imported.  So win or lose the Germans are the kings of the GSD world in quality and quantity and some might say the top in the IPO world as well but not with the GSD as their only dog breed.

He may be a troll, I don't know, but there is a bit of truth in what he said

Whether or not not the dog is imported as a pup it's still trained in the US. Competition is not just about the dog's pedigree but training. All these dogs were not imported already trained.
Breeding is only one piece of the puzzle. Training is a bigger piece of the puzzle so while Germans can look at how their pup grew up, Americans can see how good their training stands up.
These big events are were a good dog with great training will show through.
So stop with the thing about getting a dog from Germany shtick, it's over played. Look at the training and the US has many great trainer/handlers!

So good luck to all the teams USCA and WDA!!!

Well let's stop having championships and just bow down to Germany. If your going to stack the deck that way. Because with that line of thinking when the USA won the WUSV it was really a win for Germany anyway. And didn't matter because it wasn't the BSP right? OH wait the GSD's from the BSP were at the worlds that year.

Some might say that the germans are the top in the IPO/Sch world? Go figure the creators of the sport are still the best.  Kind of like USA and baseball/basketball/football? Not too mention that dogs are like the national past time in Germany while the vast majority of American haven't a clue what IPO/Sch is.

I just don't see reason for his post. BOO if your so tired of the USA's dogs coming from Germany please feel free to take one of your young dogs to a couple of the top trainers in the U.S. and let them campaign the dog for you. If you can't do that then I don't see how you can complain. HELP BE THE SOLUTION.

I totally agree, until you are competing at a high level, shut up and spectate. People on the sideline always have so much to say and are so much drama. Get involved and set up to the plate.
Train your dogs and title them, then maybe you'd see what an accomplishment it is. Even if it was an import pup.

I also agree that IPO/SchH isn't what i grew up on. I barely even heard of the sport 2 years ago. So many the Germans are so good because they grew up playing, watching, co-oping. We are still
in an infancy stage, for lack of a better term.

Just be happy and support your club or the USA as a whole. Stop whining about things that really only bother those who "don't do"

I "don't do" - and yet it doesn't bother me !  I agree wholeheartedly with what
geksweg  and ramgsd just said (even if, like zdog, I believe there is an element
of truth in Bubba's contribution, he isn't recognizing the whole story).

A little something that was brought to my attention by someone from across the pond that:

"As for Germany being top Dogs in the WUSV, Okay they do well but since 1998 Germany have won the Individual WUSV 6 times, and little Belgium which is quarter the size of Germany have won it 5 times."  (not to mention making some top quality breedings)

Also 2 of the USA's best dogs were bred and born in the Czeck Republic, imported to the states and trained here. I guess we still give credit for those 2 because, after all, they are GERMAN shepherds. LOL.

Personally I could care less where a dog is from. I enjoy watching a great dog and handler routine no matter where the dog was bred, raised or trained.
