YAEY!!!, FOUND THIS PLACE AGAIN!!..... You have to understand, there is a red circle with a line through it..... tattooed on my forehead, Now inside the circle it says "technology". .....  Seriously!    You have to understand, there is a red circle with a line through it..... tattooed on my forehead, Now inside the circle it says "technology". .....   unfortunately I had a major episode with my evil 20011 HP Pavillion G4.  After having spent 4 hours perfecting a google map for a search done earlier that showed all aspects of the search from dates to locations, to finds, the malicious  little  box of zeros and ones decided it would just lock up.  I lost all entries, everything,
well it's funny but right after it did that I was suddenly overcome with the notion that the computer needed to immediately start working towards obtaining a private  pilots license. so I started instructing it on the basics of flight.  Must not have been paying attention because it crashed not 5 feet from where it went airborne.......
, Services will be held sometime during the coming week.  Also lost in this sad accident, was the quick access to  many Huck files and pix..... sigh.

Luna  did you get a chance to check out the videos to see how Huck moved and the shape and mass of his body?? A Mal X Aussie would be smallish,  light boned and have a conical to delicate head and muzzle. And ( lord help us) that combo would produce a dog with the attributes of a 6 year old  suffering from OCD, ADD and ODD that just finished a double serving of cotton candy......   ;o)   The only thing worse than a Mal X Aussie would be a Mal X Border Collie ......  that is scary just to think about!!,   But I am curious what you saw in Huck that brought you to that choice, I might be too close to him to be seeing things open mindedly. Pretty much walked into it with the decision he was a GSD and only just now questioning that premise.

I'll give you a verbal rundown of his most obvious  physical and mental attributes. He is thick bodied. He was literally  in the pix from Westside.were taken
I figured he must have been out on his own for quite a while. (He was picked up by the Lancaster pound and Westside pulled him from there).
He has the tinges around his eyes of that " baggy hang dog look" you see in a  St Bernard , or even a loppy ljowled Great Dane. He has the look of the Akita in his front legs, paws and and head carriage. His coat is a tripple thick one and it captures and holds every (EVERY) thing it touches

He learns at lightenting speed and when we at home around the house he responds to all direction  and commands and he behaves honorably and non destructively.

HOWEVER..... if you put a harness and leash on him he ceases to know you and and every ounce of his being is focused else where, He ignores you as if he were an aloof stray rather than the dog that snored all night at the end of your bed snuggled up in his favorite faux micro mink wubbie. His prey drive is off the charts he makes the  retired racing greys and Ibizan hounds I've had look sedate!!,  He used to just take off and it was a matter of reverting to horse handling skill sets to deal with it. For huge clunker he can lay down some rubber at the start line!! He actually tries to not chase anymore and he will go flat out to the end of the lead~~ minus 1 mm ~~and stop w/o jerking me off my feet..
He is  very affectionate when not outside or on lead and very aware of and sensitive to anger. I was cussing under my breath (over the HP... go figure) and he ran from the room and would not come near me for hours. He is also object shy, but not hand shy, though he tried to bit a dog that ran up on us, and the second after he missed the bite he was crouching and tucked into a ball like he was waiting for a beating

Seeing Huck in the video's and looking at his hind leg movement I'm inclined to say he may be a German Shepherd mixed with an Austrialian Cattle dog.  They are not tiny, so a cross with a German Shepherd could retain the GSD overal size and that would also explain Head carriage, legs and paws.  I personally don't see any Belgian or Austrailian Shepherd traits in him at all.

Alice,
Let me just say that while I love the updates on Huck & will keep looking for many more, I think you could write about anything & make it attention grabbing :)
I love they way you are able to get action & feelings into your words! I can picture Huck doing the things you're talking about as if I was watching a movie instead of just reading it. Thanks for the great updates!
