I cannot honestly think this is true that they would ban Cameras etc. No idea about live stream though
I for one would not give up my Camera or Phone camera to anyone only over my dead body. i had my expensive Camera pinched in Sevilla and had i caught the one who pinched it he would now be having a very long rest i vowed it would never happen again regardless of what may happen afterwards

If true, that's really overkill. I brought both my handheld video camera and my very fancy DSLR camera to the WUSV in Kentucky and never once did anybody say anything. Perhaps this is in a more populated area and they are concerned about items getting taken? If I were you, I'd just take the camera and not say anything. Don't deliberately hide it but don't bring it into the stadium with an "I Love Nikon Cameras" hat on.

Outrageous. To my knowledge, this has happened only once in this country at a schutzhund event: North American Championship over 10 years ago at which the host club prohibited videoing, and enforced the prohibitiON, because a "professional " videographer was engaged. AFAIK, NO ONE who ordered ever received a thing. Maybe the issue is that the tickets are from the stadium and are used for those sports events such that this prohibition is inadvertent and unintended? one of those professional videos ever received a thing.

That's assine and unenforcable. Every cell phone in the World is a "video recording device"

So is it safe to assume that anyone who didn't give his/her tacit approval to this restriction by buying a ticket is still free to sit in the parking lot and record the event using a drone flown into the stadium?

Some of you people are so quick and happy to degrade this event that you are making yourselves look stupid. Go back and read the initial post. It says no cameras with detachable lenses. Does your cell phone have a detachable lens? No. Does your video camera have a detachable lens? No. And only about 20 percent of you own a still camera with a detachable lens. So stop your insincere concern and stupidity.

Most events have this same policy. You can't bring a broadcast quality camera to a concert or sporting event so why should this event be any different? If you want to bring in your high quality camera why don't you pay the event promoter for the right to do that? As some of the USCA folks have said recently "you should pay for what you use". Or does that only count when the cash is flowing in their direction?

Perhaps you need to go back and re-read the original post?

The original post said "NO" audio or recording devices, THEN went on to also describe a prohibition on what would arguably be professional equioment. Maybe, Christopher, it is your reading comprehension that is questionable.

by beetree on 14 October 2013 - 10:10

Oh, so that's the deal? In order for professional quality filming to happen, someone in the host organization wants to be paid? That person is guaranteed a profit and the professional providing the service is not guaranteed anything?

I wouldn't freak out.  Granted I've never attended a WUSV but I have attended some HUGE concerts (both the bands and the venues) and this is just the norm for most stadium type venues.  It probably has *nothing* to do with the WUSV itself or people thinking the dogs will be "bad" or anything like that.  I've never been to a concert or event where this has NOT been the case.  Bring your point and shoot camera and/or your phone and you'll be fine.
