VKGSDs

You can bring a normal camera to this event.  They are not banned.

Concerts ARE relevant because stadiums in the US are built for concerts and sporting events.  As a superfan of one of the biggest bands in the world, I have photographed in plenty of these venues and this is absolutely the norm, worldwide.  Some places do have a more relaxed policy or are known for not enforcing it; others are far more strict (I've been to venues where I cannot carry any sort of bag in, no camera, just a phone and ID in my pocket). The stadium in Philly was not built for the WUSV.  The camera policy on the WUSV ticket is the standard policy that applies to ANY event at this venue, it is not specific to the WUSV (and it *does* allow normal cameras and phones with cameras, the majority of people do not carry around the type of equipment that would be prohibited other than the press area, and often even if one did no one is checking or enforcing the policy if you are not bothering anyone else).

The issue of there not being a livestream or professional videographer is a different issue than the stadium policy printed on the tickets. The policy on the tickets is in no way intended to "ban" coverage of the event. The event organizers could have (SHOULD have) set this up and they could have change the policy by setting their own but they didn't.  People can still take their cameras into the venue but they likely will not be the quality that the rest of us had hoped for as far as watching streaming coverage or even YouTube videos after the fact.

Sorry but the stadiums in the USA are no different from the same in other countries. Most big IPO events in most countries are performed on FOOTBALL Stadiums. So we have the size of a football pitch then the Stands for the people that is all that is needed for phases B and C the tracking or Speuring is different they need a fair sized area for the amount of dogs competing and this is always a problem to find the right type and amount of area needed for the dogs to use. Looking at the Photos of the Stadium in Philly there will be plenty of open spaces for anyone wanting to take videos or photos without getting in the way of anyone but as i said no one takes any notice. and i repeat this is not a Concert it is a IPO Dog event completley different thing to hordes of screaming teenagers or even older teenagers who have yet to grow up. Whatever we say about this years WUSV it will go down in history as a first for lack of coverage.
I hope the event goes well only for the sake of the competitors who have worked so hard this year to get there Dogs and themselves to the event.they deserve to have a great time and it be well run for them. For anything else we will wait and see

The same organization just completed another National WUSV Event. There's some fallout or aftershock in progress. Hopefully this event will go better.

Steve, that was my point.  Stadiums in Europe are not unique.  They have the same rules about cameras and AV equipment.  And at this particular stadium the rules are NOT different because it is a WUSV event, concert rules apply.

VKGSDs...You don't seem to understand that talking about the fine print on a ticket really is the vehicle to showcase the absolute toe dragging done by the top echelon of the host organization. They show through their neglect that quality action filming is the least of their concerns.

Calm down, people. I've got it covered. I am bringing a sketch artist and stenographer. She types in bold, so Steve is covered.

beetree, I can't go either so I'm just as bummed as everyone else that I won't get to see squat. I just think Steve is being a tad melodramatic claiming that the US is not "free" and that normal attendees are in some way banned from using their normal cameras and phones in this venue.  I don't think you will find a person that doesn't want the event streamed or at least semi-professionally recorded for the participants.  We don't need to make sweeping generalizations about an entire country because this one event is being mishandled, which we pretty much all knew from the get-go but have no control over.
