Looks like it'll be Hank again! Unless Kummel scores higher than a 97 in protection, or Chris Spod Lazov gets a perfect score in tracking.

Wish I could be there!

Denwolf thanks so much for recording and loading videos. Have you gotten any other videos from people to put up to your site? So far there are 15 and I do realize there is probably quite a lot of editing to do so if it's a matter of just being patient while you load and edit I can do that Shades Smile There were TONS of people recording so I know there are vids out there of most every routine but am not sure where to find them!

Hey Guys, I made it my first international event WUSV on Friday. Very nice stadium. The crowd was small on Friday, maybe 1500 people. Several vendors but not a lot. I did bring my palm HDD video camera and used it without a problem. They check bags on entrance but were looking for food and weapons.  One person next to me did have a professional digital video camera with a boom mike with wind screen. SO even though it was printed it was not enforced. I thought the helper work over all was safe and consistent. I thought the stick hits were very light for this level. The front half helper did have a little trouble locking up with some of the larger and stronger dogs. I believe it had more to do with the helpers physical size, he may have weighed 160 pounds. There was a slight delay on friday when they had to use larger stakes for the blinds because the wind knocked a few down. Transitions between the B and C were smooth. Dog and handler teams came out consistently.  There was a problem with some countries practicing on the trial tracking fields and were called on the carpet.  From what I saw things went well for the event organizers during the competition on Friday.  I had a very good experience and time.  The event was just not publicized well outside of the schutzhund community.

Hello Everyone :)

Glad you liked the video's Denwolf posted.
I arrived Wednesday and started filming them with my Nikon on Thursday morning. I tried to video as many competitors as possible but without a tripod or a regular video camera it was hard. I did get the OB and protection work for both Hank and Glenn and on my computer monitor it looks like they turned out pretty well.  I filmed a total of 36 dogs doing OB and Protection. The one thing that surprised me in the protection was the number of dogs that did not complete the blind search, yet still scored fairly well. (in the upper 80's and lower nineties).

Ditto everything Kyle said......I will add that we ate dinner next to the helpers Friday evening and talked to them a bit. The smaller guy (don't remember his name) was moving a little slow and when I commented about it he grinned and said, "Yeah those dogs beat me up a bit today". Some of those dogs looked as big as he was while they were on the sleeve.

I had a wonderful time....met some really nice people...made new friends and learned a lot.

I look forward to next time.

Finally back from traveling to the east!!

Awesome trip, met so many people, and did accomplice much more than I had hoped to do..

First off, many thanks to my "production crew"!!  Without them, I would not have been able to go, attend, or get ANY of the videos shot.
(You guys know who you are.. chime in for hugs and pats from the peanut gallery!!)

For those confused readers, you may recall that I was never able (despite MUCH effort) to get a clear and timely answer to what I would be allowed to cover at this event (cover means tape, stream, etc)...

Since I was not able to professionally do any taping, I had others bring me THEIR video. Then I edited as much as I could on location, and have the clips currently running on my online TV station...  which you are all free to access and view for as long as you like!!

Additionally, I did put up some rather lame "LIVE" looks on Saturday.. which garnered LOTS of viewers!!  That in itself was amazing, considering it was streaming from a LAPTOP webcam...

The event went off well, so many nice dog/handler teams from all over the world competing. Beautiful stadium, gorgeous view..  lovely green golf-grass..  great vendors..

Hotel was as accommodating as they could be.. town and food not so great.. (answer most commonly given was NO)....

The Saturday evening dinner was especially exciting, and we got to witness the "bar fight" chickie go ghetto in the hall...with the broken beer bottle...  (did I warn you guys I was a NEWS magnet)..

Met LOTS of very nice people from here..  and some of you also met Dante the Wonder Dog..

Glad to be home, was worth it..  would do it again, and hopefully next time, will be able to make some nice video for posterity..

So one last time, here is the player.. I will leave the clips up running for awhile.. and they will be there in the "library" afterwards for viewing.. I plan to break them up by dog name, and will have each one's obedience followed by protection work together..
I have more clips to edit, and will gladly accept any video others have shot.. and will add it to the group.

These kinds of things are SO important to have for the future..  these are dogs that will potentially be in future pedigrees of animals we will all be buying/breeding and training...

So.. enjoy, and send me clips (PM me for instructions on how to do this)

I have requests already from some of the handlers who are looking for video of their performances.

I ( and I think a lot of people, too ) really appreciate your work ( and this was and still is hard work - and a LOT of your time... ).
Thanks again!!!
Kind regards from Germany
