I personally like the dogs that maintain the characteristics that the older czech/slovak lines are known for, which are natural suspicion, natural protectiveness, overall good health, hardness, a high amount of defense/fight/hunt/rock-solid-nerves etc.  And I also specifically look for linebreeding on a few dogs like Titus z PS, Cordon An-Sat, Norbo Ben-Ju, Congo Vikar, Gero z Blatenskeho Zamku, Balli Panta-Rei, Dargo Ha-ja-da etc.,that exemplify some of these (to me, desirable) features.

I am thoroughly satisfied with my female and my male, since they include most of the above mentioned dogs in them, and their temperaments, superb health, intelligence and overall athletic structures reflect that.  Neither of my dogs have needed any vet visits, in the years they have been in my care, for any illness whatsoever (which is also true of my Field Labrador).....which in turn is a superb testament to their origins.....call it all-czech or czech-type or whatever.

Got to say that as I am typing this up, both of them are lying just a few feet away from me (as they are, whenever I am home), watching every expression that flits across my face.....I swear they can sense every bit of emotion that I may be feeling ! Love them :)

Aaykay, check out this line breeding (pun not intended:-)

Love the ped, Joan, and I personally like Cordon's son, Tom, being on there.  My boy, Lord (Lordie) is 5-3 on Norbo's sire, Car.

Puci is on my girl's ped (her granddam) and for whatever reason, I think my girl's overall intelligence and balance comes directly from Puci, which shows Puci's prepotence.  I think Puci's prepotence is derived from her mother Alex z Pisnicky, who again is a Cordon grand-daughter.

Thanks, aaykay. And these pups are solid, just like their dam, Olivia. You and I talked four years ago about this Puci line-bred O litter. I have Olivia and two brothers, still. Very solid environmentally and all three civil, with clear head. You'd like them. Your gsds turned out really good looking and I'm sure they give you piece of mind:-)
Here's video of one of the brothers I kept...very green dog, all natural protection.

I have showlines and there is something about a GSD that trumps bloodlines and breeders - they are the best breed there is. Pedigrees don't matter, it's the dog.

Joan, if you ever need to place Olivia, call me Wink Smile

Without pedigrees, they are mongrels. Using line breeding, one can breed for type, temperament , health; therefore i believe that pedigrees do matter.
Look how closely these two dogs complement each other....they blended well in pedigree and in the flesh. https://www.dropbox.com/s/x3mtrgtfur9q053/IMG_20150208_151149_rewind-23444099.jpg?dl=0 Their pups so far inherited the qualities of both parents with solid nerves and tremendous bibability and trainability along with fantastic hunt drive, strong prey drive and genetic deep hard grips and beautiful correct structure.

"Joan, if you ever need to place Olivia, call me "
Haha...thanks, Blitzen. Olivia is one of those females who would protest strongly to being taken from her human:-)

I put a link for a picture, but I can't make it live, nor can I post pictures on here. :-(

I'll bet she'd like my Sleep Number bed LOL.
