Kalibeck

by Kalibeck on 08 May 2015 - 00:05

I had one litter. Their dam was 3/4 West German Showline ( line bred on Fanto vom Hirschel ) 1/4 American Showline.  Sire DDR/Czech, ( to Grim z PS & to Lord v G) had 5 males, 2 females....4 melanistic black & tans, 3 sables. All with very strong protective instincts, nice balanced personalities, crazy ball drive but able to settle, very eager to please & willing to learn. Smart. Very smart. Nice top lines, gently sloping croups, no roached backs, no cow hocks, no east/west fronts...deep chests, slightly stretched, males with big blocky heads, females feminine heads....good angles front & back. Several of the litter mates have alerted to medical problems in their owners. Very bonded to their people. All have correct bites. When starting with my girls that I kept back, they were crazy for the flirt pole, went for the tug with nice, deep bites....had deep noses on our brief start in tracking...then my hubby fell ill with kidney failure, I had pneumonia then cancer...now I'm disabled, but my son gave me an electric wheelchair, & I hope to restart training in my chair.

I've been having trouble posting pictures, they post upsidedown, sideways, & kinda stretched... But I'll try, below, with their registered names, so you can access their pedigrees.

ok, here we go with the screwy uploads---

Ani vom Kalibeck aka Lil' Bit...this little bitch was the runt of the litter, she would have made an awesome sport dog! She has a fire in her belly, she takes no BS from anyone...when she wants something she does a bark & hold in front of me, or grabs hubby's hand...they are special buddies.

And of course Ansgar vom Kalibeck, who alerted me to my cancer, & is my protector & best friend.

Attila & Ansel have pictures on their pedigrees. Attila alerted his owners wife to his stroke & now stays by him, loyal friend.

Ansel's family has not kept in touch. I'm trying to reestablish contact with them.

All pups are now 7 years old, all my puppy people have had no health issues, & are thrilled with their dogs.

I tried to upload a picture of the last pup, Arnold. It won't let me. Maybe another time...he's a melanistic black & tan with a nice big head.

i owned this female from 6 wks to almost 9 yrs.  i put a bh on her & had her hips ofa'd----good.  never bred her.

i will say the same thing for breeding SL/WL as i would to WL/WL or SL/SL & that is:

NEVER breed in more drive or aggression than you have nerves to support it.  breed for

solid nerves first & foremost....above anything else.  once you have established that you can add whatever

traits or abilities you choose.  it is my honest opinion that most SL dogs lack the stable nerves needed to

support the drive & aggression in many WL dogs.  now, i said MOST & MANY.  i did not say all.  there are

always exceptions.  just make sure you have solid nerves in  both breeding partners.  trying to compensate

for one with weak nerves will not work.......ever.
