Small correction on Keira v Bairdhaus-she did not go HIT at NASS...she was HIT for her SchH1, HIT for her SchH 2, & compteted as a SchH 1 in 2014 DVG Nationals & got 2nd place in that division.

Yes, he's an attractive dog; considering the OP started this thread because she was looking for bloodlines that produced this type of structure, however, this dog offers nothing for consideration, since there isn't even a sire shown for him, and there's precious litte information on his mother's side with regard to recent hip and elbow certifications. I don't doubt that he can probably work, but he's definitely not breeding quality as it presently stands.

Smiley, if you're still browsing this post, I am totally with you on this point, and so are a significant number of people who may not be posting on these forums.

As a person who has no axe to grind in this (I have 2 personal GSDs, both Czech/DDR type and none to sell, in addition to a field Labrador), and having grown up with "normal looking" dogs, the current showline trend of roachy backs and droopy rear-end with undersized rear-legs  (in addition to temperamentally destroying the breed on the SL side of the table), does look distasteful to me, personally.  The general public is also noticing this, even though the "Emperor himself may not be noticing that he is in the suit that he was born with".

I seriously hope that the regrettable trend will be rolled back, and the GSD structure with get back to where it was, so that the GSD can once again get back to being the premier breed that was used for a wide swathe of service dog duties.

In your 2nd post on this thread, among the 2 dogs, the dog on the top is an excellent, healthy looking specimen and his structure represents the GSD in its heyday, well before the decline began. I truly hope it is not too late to go back to such a sensible structure and that the SV will take the lead on this.
