So that no one chooses to take a negative position involved with my mention of Dr. Goldfarb...

????? Is that really a controversial statement?

by Blitzen on 18 September 2015 - 18:09

Richard, I hope you agree with me - I think the GSDCA is moving in the right direction for the entire breed now and appointing Goldfarb was a very wise move.

Gotta run..............

Blitzen: I could not agree with you more. Frank Fasano's leadership, with the support of likeminded people in the club, has caused the GSDCA to turn the corner as the breed club in this country. Frank and likeminded folks made the club one of inclusivism and one welcoming all interests and points of view. As you probably know, that move has not been one universally pleasing to everyone, but it was one that was sorely needed for many years. For all too long, the SV style events were looked upon as a threat to some of the more myopic ones in the club, and even today, some apparently still seem to feel threatened by it. Brighter days are ahead for us.

As you probably know, Dr. Goldfarb and I have been great friends for many years. He is highly respected throughout the world as a gentleman, physician and Breed Judge. He will do a great job as our SV Regional Director.

Ha, just like I've been saying here all along, despite nearly all the members of this forum claiming otherwise. The guys at the top seem to have acknowledged all I have said here about declining participation among the 35 and under crowd and are finding ways to integrate other events to attract them.

I also assume Heinrich Messler is talking about FCI rules for Agility and OB, not AKC.

If Dr Golfarb is the big judge on everything is he responsible for what so many good people here talk about when they talk about how far the GSD has diverged from the standard?

by Blitzen on 22 September 2015 - 17:09

Richard, I think that Goldfarb, Gleason, Fasano, Gittano et al have one big goal in common - they care about what benefits the breed, not individuals. I wish I could make it to the NS and Sieger this year. I think it will be a great event and the schedule has been planned so that exhibitors and spectators will be able to attend both.

by Blitzen on 22 September 2015 - 17:09

vk what are you talking about?

So now if we are going to have Agility and Obedience as separate venues and i,m okay with that can we go back and have a real Breed test? That also would be great for the breed.

Teeth Smile

As long as breeders outside of Germany either

  • don´t title their dogs because it´s too easy
  • don´t title their dogs because it´s too difficult

we don´t need to talk about a "real" breed test...
