"Obviously my goal is not to produce novelty dogs and you will never find any evidence that I refer to them as "rare" or special."

This is ridiculous - you are promoting the blue color in your kennelname and on your facebook account. You are breeding intentionally for blues, not by "accident". You are proud of your dogs with the "blue dilution gene" ( Facebook ). Your goal is breeding blues, first and foremost.
I don´t care about your knowledge of genetics - you should use your knowledge to AVOID blues, not to PRODUCE them. What about your livers? Do you own Pandas, too? So sorry your website is down at the moment...

"So I thought we could all play nice and be adults but apparently I was mistaken."

"Playing nice" means "playing according to the rules" at least in my book. You are breeding AGAINST the breed standard, you are NOT playing according to the rules.

Sorry, I forgot, you are living in the United States of America, where everybody is allowed to do anything - no rules for free people - It´s sickening.

Darlene's site is my 'go to' resource for a reliable, easily understood explanation of how the genetics of 'off colour' dogs work. I've had it bookmarked for a long time, ever since a certain member here was trashed for producing some blue pups. [This was long before Jenni's litter with the 'combover' blue pup.] Genetics fascinates me, and there's a lot of B.S. out there re. the off colours, pandas, etc.

She is very knowledgeable, and I respect her.

Sun, I´d respect her in case she would use her knowledge to AVOID these colors, but she is doing the opposite.
I´m not against OWNING these dogs, I´m against BREEDING them.
Why don´t we just start breeding black Dobermans or white Rottweilers? They are sooo cute...

Why can't anyone come here and ask a question without being shredded??? Susie not trying to be rude but is this really affecting you personally? Think you have given your opinion and expressed your feelings, so enough is enough thank you.

To Living fence: Sire and dam of the litter in question were not bred in Germany ( Portugal/ Puerto Rico?).
We ( Germany ) are not able to sell on "limited registrations" - every dog/puppy bred according to the rules gets its pedigree...
but we are forced to show and title our dogs later on ( in that case: a blue/liver dog, although with pedigrees, is not allowed for breeding...) =

There is a standard for a reason. I would rather see another breed created than to change the standard. Experiment all you want. Just don't call it the same dog that falls within the standard. Concentrating on designer colors outside of the standard is not improving the breed.

Mrdarcy, we are not talking about a newcomer or a cute pet dog owner, we are talking about a person that 100% knows what she is doing ( for decades ).
A lot of people are reading this site, participating or not, do you really want to tell them " Hey, it´s okay ! Do whatever you want! Don´t care about any breed standards, we are just a "PEDIGREEDATABASE ..."

No Susie I do not want to tell anyone it is alright, but You, I and anyone else stating it over and over here won't change a damn thing. Germany has tight rules, we get that, the rest of the world apparently not, nobody here will change that. I'm out I've read so many of these types of threads over the years, does it change the mind of the breeders in question?....no. All it does do is chase members away.....end of story!!

Susie; Please keep your opinions coming. It is not about stopping a calculating breeder , it is about educating novices. this site can only be made better with susie's insightful posts. keep it up!

Educating novices????? Omg SmilePlease don't make me laugh, I've witnessed so many " novices " get slaughtered here than anything else. There's so much info out there on the colors that one more thread here won't make one bit of difference to a novice, just do a search of the site Roll eyes

Susie please note I do not have a problem with you or your posts in fact you are one member that has value to add here. Now I'm really out before this turns into mod lynching as usual, anyone has anything further to say to me do it in a PM, I will happily engage, thanks.
