The last time that I spoke to Karl Fuller he had 2000 sheep to look after.

It was a real loss to the GSD community when Fuller passed. And not to long ago we also lost SV Judge and Koremeister Wilfried Scheld who learned a lot from Fuller.

So, overangulation is Xeph's mistake afterall?

Why do you think so?
Not at all!
You always need to know where people ( breeders ) come from...

Working lines
Show lines
American show lines
...

For me Xeph right now is in a learning process, looking at her dogs, doing ( ! ) some work with them, and observing by herself what´s good and what´s bad for the breed.
I´d love to see more people to think "outside of the box" like her, would be good for the breed as a whole, no matter which " line ".

Xeph is on a learning curve but what I like is that she is embracing both sides of the fence. Well done.

It´s not about angulation "only" - it´s about the LENGTH of bones, too ( upper thigh, lower thigh, HOCKS ) - too much simply is too much - and it´s a result of angulation AND length of bones.

Do not disagree.  I have some puppies that are "hockier" than others.  A couple with nice short ones.

To me, this is a very good and interesting topic that has helped educate people, including me, who have read through all the post. It is very obvious that many people have differing opinions of how sloped and angulated a German Shepherd should be. Personally, I love the conformation of most working dogs I've seen in action.
