I think a huge part of it is the internet and just being able to easily share issues. A lot of things get blown way out of proportion on the internet these days. Much has to do with the lack of facts and information necessary to make a post and make it seem like it matters. On top of that, we tend to post negatives more than we do positives or even “non-events” which leads to a skewed thought that there are more problems than there really are. For instance, a post about a dog coming down with DM will likely get responses from others that had dogs with DM, yet not everyone with a dog without DM is responding with “my dog doesn’t have DM.” Soon, you have dozens of posts from people that have had dogs with DMs and none from people that have not had to deal with the disease. Same with something like dog bites, it’s amazing that I log into Facebook and see a dog bite story from across the country. Makes it seem like there are way more dogs biting these days, but in fact, it’s just that the story exists and it’s easier to see due to the way media works.

That’s why I take issue with posts like the OP. It makes it sound like it’s something important and real, coming from someone who knows better than an average person. When in reality, it’s just an opinion, a baseless opinion, with absolutely no facts to back it up. Truthfully, knowing who it’s coming from, the goal is just to defile the breed or shed negative light on the breed without providing anything real to actually back up the position. It’s the usual, easy, way to create a negative perception by omitting important information but knowing that those with less knowledge will latch onto the bold statement without needing anything behind it.

Sounds like Black Malinois needs to get a better hobby. I might suggest knitting, making ash trays out of clay, or basket weaving. But there is also Xanax. Or something stronger? Try Thorazine.

Happy New Year everybody!

Jesus Christ, just stick with your damn Malinois and leave GSDs alone. We get it, Mals are superior. Blah blah blah

I don't think he was making any assertion on "Mals being superior".

He was just pointing out the steady deterioration in the structure of the GSD, from what it was in the past. As a GSD lover, I don't need to be a rocket scientist to see that structural degradation, in the mastiff-like face and the droopy rear, of current-day GSDs, specially on the showline side.

For comparison, here is the absolute best GSD in the world, as it was.....if you were to show him to a non-GSD person, he/she might point him out as a Mal:

Or here's an example that looks like a coiled spring (another GSD on the very top of the pyramid, once upon a time) and you don't need to be an expert to see his athleticism:

How in the heavens did we get from the examples above, to the abomination below ?  Certainly not "evolution" or even intelligent selection :

http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/dog.html?id=341400-zamp-vom-thermodos

He was just showing the mirror to the GSD afficionados like myself, so that we will no longer deny the facts that are staring us in the face.

First time I've heard the extremely popular Zamp
described as an abomination. But clearly aakay
and blackmal know so much better than all us
'GSD experts'. :-(

'...extremely popular...'
That is what directs all things, regardless of the end result.

Hund, Black and Aaykay are the other side of the coin - try to meet in the middle, and the breed will be fine.
Extremes always are extremes, but that has never been the goal of this breed.

Susie, do you honestly think Zamp Thermados
was at one end of the 'extremes' ???

Every breeder and judge in the UK who saw him
in person or got the chance to get their hands on
him while he was here had nothing but good to
say about the dog. I cannot think of ONE negative
remark about him.

Makes me return to my earlier point in another thred:
people who are looking for problems, and rely on still
photos, see what they WANT to see...

The man accross the way has a male off Zamp and to be honest with u very little good about him loose sagging mouth and eyes that look saggy to .looks well over sized to but owner won't let me neare him to measurer after i spoke about his head they think he is the be all because of the line behind him .Also seen a pup from him worked him when he was 15 months good strong grip but that's about it. When you went to rub him when biteing he dropped the sleeve owners wanted to keep going even when I said he won't do any good never really got any better that's just what iv seen out of Zamp. It's hard to explain in writing .I put no pressure on this dog what so ever
