Joanro, there's no nothing wrong with being a macho male, example , I have a bismack male whose 27 inches tall and wheighs about 105 pounds of agression, it's a great dog , very loyal and somewhat old school GSD type , very neutral to both dogs and people and no I don't believe a woman could handle him nor do I think he would accept that, he'll our sch club president thinks he should be put down but That's what I love about this dog and look for in a dog ,something that's in no shape or form likes to necessarily be petted by strangers or is wagging his tail when approached , all my dogs are one man dogs ( I own 3) and non are particularly friendly to humans or dogs and yes Iam
Not ashamed to admit that and to which his own. And no the vet can't come close to them and they have to be muzzled. That doesn't make a bad guy btw

Mithuna~ 'Im 100% hetero and male.'

Is that for the benefit of 'shawni' or are you making a declaration to your 'male only' advisors.

by joanro on 13 May 2016 - 18:05

Shawn, you didn't answer my question. And I was mostly referring to mithu  being 'machisimo' as in braggert weak male, him falling for hyp and his *spoiled* dog.
Usually, people who must brag about their dog being a bad ass, are making up for their own lack of character, and trying to live vicariously through their dog....usually a fat fail because the dog is weak, too.

Of course it's adenoidal and not a scientific study, but personal experience says that women are less likely to be successful with either Hard or Civil dogs.

It makes sense.

There are always exceptions, but generally speaking, women are typically not as effective at making an impression on Hard dog. It's a combination of factors (body language, strength, tone of voice, etc).

Women are also less willing to deal with Civil dogs. Again, there are exceptions, but typically women are not as accepting of violence as men are.  An animal "attacking" another human being is violent. Women are not as comfortable with this for the same reason you don't seen as many women in Boxing/MMA, etc. When you also factor in Civil dogs challenging their handlers, plenty of women will say "No thanks".

That isn't a dig against women and of course there exceptions. Gender differences are real, not just when it comes to dogs. It is what it is.

Joan , that's usually what feminist ususlly say .. I was never coming directly at you anyway , generally speaking .. Iam just frustrated by seeing sable and black golden retrievers breeders are producing now and claiming it's a serious dog cause it chases balls all day

Mithuna

So my female has similar temperament as Shawni described. Cannot be approached ( or stared at ) by or petted by strangers or handled by vet . Goes to vet or bath house under 75 mg of ace promezine. Completely stable in the house and most loyal. This the type I prefer.

What a load of crap. Women who get beat up by men are putting up with violence all the time. Announcing they are leaving the a**H's often gets them killed, too. Their GSD's have been known to stand guard over their dead bodies.

Adenoidal? I think you mean... anecdotal? I'll assume that was a smart phone, auto correction.

I can't wait for Mithuna to get sued.

The men currently describing their dogs right now are the poster children for not having obedience/control on a dog and thinking their dog is stronger than it really is because they've just let it get away with whatever it wanted.

There isn't a correction any of the men here can give that's stronger than a powerful blast on an ecollar, or a calm lift by a suppression collar. Women are just as capable of correcting large animals as men are.

by joanro on 13 May 2016 - 18:05

Shawn, what's wrong with being a feminist? Machisimo men feel threatened by a strong woman who can handle a strong dog... It is what it is.
You still didn't answer how I'm 'ruining the breed'.
