Rik,

I remember something my grandmother told me growing up........

"Those that can..........will do."
"Those that can't.........can't do."
"Those that proclain (self imperious).......will never do."

I've since learned that my grandmother,.. was a very wise old woman

Robin, thank you for finding room for me at CIPWDA.

I know that Carlos has very important clients who provide very much more in finances than I can offer.

Yet, still you take my pup and also provide me a handler for my working bitch.

All this you do and do not even know me until I show up.

Thank you also that I can sit under your tent. Thank you to Maria's mother who feeds me.

But really, in the long run, what does this mean to these know it all people here, who do nothing, know nothing, only attack anyone who dares to come here and present any knowledge past a back yard fence.

I am very surprised you are still here. You must have thicker skin than I give you credit for.

Rik,

I've learned......Don't yell......no one hears you,  Don't advise unless asked......no ones listens to you.
Don't throw stones.....no one shields you.

I love this breed very much, and there really are alot of nice people in the sport........be a "gardner"...."weed thru them".

xeph, please, Robin (crhuerta) just address a reply to me personaly.

Are you even advanced enough to realize who this kennel is and the accomplishments they achieve in the GSD world. (U.S. and Germany)

So please, keep telling me how far down the list I am in the GSD world.

regardless, please continue to put me in my place,

Rik

Robin, that is very good advice.

However, here is where I sit. The very last mountain in the Appalachian chain. No contacts in the SV world except here. I need and crave advice from top GSD folks. Certainly crhuerta is one. You are the only one who has not been run off by these boo birds.

I am new to the "German" GSD. Many years in AKC. So I come here to learn. Do a lot of research on this board. You see very well the result in my pup and my bitch.

Everything I need to know to choose these dogs, I learn and research on this forum.

I find my breeder, I find what I consider the ultimate GSD bitch. I consult with the very top authority that I know on GSD. (also I find him here) Make a 1500 mile road trip and choose my pup.

I present him (in my avatar) as the result of what knowledge can be gained from this board.

Rik,

This board is "read" by alot of really super people......and many trully, "educated" in the breed.
We all have forum "names", and most people's faces are never to be revealed.
Some people will plague the boards, merely for the pure amusement of torturing others.......I don't know why?.....maybe it gives them some sort of self worth?!   You also have others, that have accomplished " titles, breedings & ventures"....only to have them "cram their accomplishments, down the throats of other competitors or "freshies" in this breed and sport".
No one should sit on a "soap box" and proclaim their "magesty".
The day you stop learning, or being "taught"....check your pulse.....because you should be dead.

Every trainer, "trains" best......every breeder, "breeds" best.....every owner, "owns" best......it goes on...and on...and on.
Bullshit!
You will never "win" the war against these types of people.......so let them eradicate themselves.
Chris, Molly, Randy, Myself included... and several others have fallen "prey" to "self rightous, "self imperious blow hards".
The difference is........we continue to do.

My personal, professional, educated advise to ANYONE that wants to accomplish anything in this sport....."be humble,
be honest, be fair"....
....and help ANYONE that asks for it.

Good night Rik,   OMG what time is it?

The one thing i do not like is for males to verbally abuse women on any forum such as Rik has done, it does not look good at all far from it,  a true male would never utter defamatory words at a woman in real life or in words on a forum, I think it in very bad taste indeed, and Sunsilver has had the brunt of it and NO ONE on here is a moderator and i for one would not pick few to be so, one does come to mind because he is a level headed Guy and that is BOB, he would keep us all in check including me

Let me weigh in here FWIW, When I started my career which ended up with me supervising 1500 people, I had a mentor that pulled me aside when I was young and told me, "Its not too bad that a person doesn't know something, its when they don't know that they don't know is when you will see problems". I have always tried to use that as a rudder. I am not current with the current show scene either German or American in terms of specific dogs or what judges are looking for. So I don't comment on specific show dogs or lines. I am familar with how the showlines fit into the work, vocation, sport, world and I often comment on this because I work dogs and go to the venues that produce work, sport, and vocational dogs to see what is current and works. I often read the show posts to glean information about what is current, but because I neither work, attend, or like the current showlines I only venture opinions when it intersects with the function of the breed in a practical sense.
I am passionate about the breed, and will never stop learning, but the one thing that experience gives you that can't be acquired in a short time, is the ability to recognize those(including myself but i have learned to be quiet in these areas), that don't know they don't know. Maybe that is why many people who do KNOW don't bother to posts. I was always taught that to be smart you had to be able to recognize smart when you see it, then learn from it.
Oh Well, I guess I am saying there is a place for everybody on this forum, beginners, scholars, mentors, mentees, etc., it just a matter of knowing where you are are doing the things to benefit from there.JMO

WOW!

by crhuerta on 29 July 2009 - 14:07

My statement holds the same truths..........
And I do believe that no one should become abusive to anyone on this forum or any other for that matter.
But, besides "offensive, vulgar words"....there are ways to put in words "abuse".
Yes...trully knowledgeable persons' have no need to profess their "expertness"....they need prove nothing to anyone...nor, do they care to.
Alot of people do come here and almost never post......we watch "vultures" circle over their prey, and think to ourselves, OMG..aren't we all adults here?
But, you do have those, who despite the fact that they have accomplished & learned things that could be a benefit to anyone wanting to learn,.......be just as "abusive", as they post remarks, insinuating that the person asking/answering the posts are idiots.
I can't compose like a scholar......so my posts are always laymen......but they have been and always will be honest.
We ALL learn something daily,.....maybe we have all learned something from start to finish of this particular post.
