This is my guy, Opie - he is almost 9 months old. I have his pedigree info in the database. Out of curiousity - does any one know anything about any of his ancestors? What a guess would be to as his adult weight? He is 63 pounds now and was born Feb. 8, 2014. He has an awesome temperment and is a very quick learner.

Thanks for your time.

Pamela

The pedigree is all Johnson/Bully type dog. So things to watch out for are hip dysplasia, and breathing and heart problems. Due mostly to (West Champs High Hope) the english bulldog used by John Johnson. Keep him slender as he's growing and avoid letting him become over weight. As he matured he will get his adult build and mass but don't rush it, this breed is slow to mature and he won't be full grown until he is about 3 years old. I can't guess adult weight and personally think it is unimportiant compared to heath and soundnesss of the dog over all. When he is 2 have his hips x-rayed to make sure he doens't have any problems and keep him active and fit. Also get signed up for training if you have not already as they are smart and enjoy training a lot.

Good luck with your pup and hope you have lots of fun with him.

Thank you for your response. He is now in Advanced Training Classes. On top of that I am studying to be a Dog Trainer/Instructor myself - which I am really enjoying.

Are you basing him being a Johnson Bully from what you see in his pedigree chart? I was told he was Johnson/Scott Hybrid.

There are no Scott/Standard dogs listed in his pedigree anywhere. He is straigh up Bully/Johnson type. No none bully dogs in any of his ancestors at all. Who ever told you he was Scott/Johnson didn't know much about the dogs.

Congrats on your becoming a dog training. It's a real fun sport and while i do not train professionally. I have competed in dog sports for 20 years. And i still love it.

Have fun.
