4pack

I responded before reading the whole thread and then went back to go threw it all. I think KCzaja said it best. Worry about your own dogs before worrying about ours. No way I'm getting docked points when my dog outworks yours. it's a WORKING breed and even teh Capt said work before beauty.

Videx:

Again I say I agree more comformation checks but again you prove nothing spouting all your "30 years experience" if you can,t admitt the problem isn,t in the breed it,s in the judges who can not or will not judge to the written standard!!! for what ever reason for favor or money. No problem can be fixed untill the judging standards are upheld.

The consistent lowering of the bar in working standards by the SV are another problem.

4pack & snaiper69, and some others: Every National Trial has some "working GSD" entries that FAIL TO BITE.

I have been to numerous BSP trials and watched them, some have even RUN AWAY from the helper. Some with VERY impressive Working GSD pedigrees.

"selective blindness" appears to inflict a number of you.

I hear you say "It is an animal NOT a machine" (unless it is a Show dog? we give them NO excuse))

"they already have a conformation grade" - Yes, and Show dogs in the Working Class at Sieger Shows already have a Schutzhund qualification (normally SchH3)

Stick to the simple issue - many GSD Working dogs require a substantial improvement in conformation.

"some have even RUN AWAY from the helper"

And here is the difference.....in a working dog trial the dog is disqualified, in a sieger show, the dog gets to be a VA.

Deeswolf: a very SELECTIVE quote. Selectively chosen. READ the whole book, and quote the whole book. I am interested in the WHOLE GSD.

and many show dogs needs a substantial improvement in the work department!

Eliminate over size, excessive rear angulation and roach backs and then concentrate on the working dogs! Though i doubt they need any improvement!

Deeswolf: another unsubstantiated comment, hearsay and gossip is not FACT, such behaviour contributes to the demise of the GSD as a whole. A Lynch mob & a Kangaroo Court mentality is not even civilised. Fools & morons usually practice it,

Many dogs DO need a substantial improvement in the WORKING department.

And many Working Dogs require an improvement ALSO, and an improvement in CONFORMATION.
