Oh, another graduate from the school of abstinence only education!

Yeah, this baby chose his name to inflame the Western world!  What baby is born in clothes with monogrammed infant wear.  My kids were born naked and nameless as the family discussed possible names for the first few days. So Obama had a choice?  How many Elvis's do you know?

How would you describe the most powerful person in the US? Influence is key, besides unbelievable wealth, but the ability to talk to who you want when you want, priceless. (That is what the Lincoln bedroom flap was all about, wasn't it?) And Oprah seems adept at getting others to not only just listen, but do. Absolutely, the media has been focusing Obama in such pearly lights, coincidence, hmmmm? His war chest bursts.  So it is more than just campaigning for someone, because if you asked me, I don't remember Oprah campaigning for him at all, I'm sure she did somehow, but not so I would hear it about on the East Coast.

I also think the defection of Colin Powell hurts the McCain ticket immensely. Is it all just policy, or and I'm just asking, could the idea of a president of color being a reality, have anything to do with it? He never wanted the job, he clearly wasn't happy with the Bush way, given the two choices, why not? Wouldn't you if it were you?

Bush has alienated and disenfranchised so many, through his fault or not— it doesn't matter, that his influence has diminished inspite of his being President of USA. Also, another thought of mine, who will be the people the greenhorn Senator will rely on, and what degree he is malleable, should he win. In other words, who is the influenced, or who is influencing?

Who will the guest list be around the Whitehouse dinner table, toasting their well orchestrated success, , hmmmm? I bet you'll see Oprah, and Colin, and Whoopi, just to name a few. I wonder who the new Whitehouse chef will be, Oprah could definately help him there.~

Again so what if Oprah campaigns for Obama?

by beetree on 01 November 2008 - 15:11

Again you trivialize my questions and don't answer any of my questions. If you don't get my point or want to add to this mundane topic, at least don't try to influence others who may want to.

I'm not sure why you are bringing color into this,  please be more specific, because it sounds like you are wondering if people are voting along racial lines.  If that is your point, I have to ask what would make you think such a thing?  After all, General Colin Powell was in charge of our entire defense, not once were his ethics questioned - so why now?

Sue,

Why have Dems spent Millions on sexism? And why do you find this acceptable?

by beetree on 01 November 2008 - 18:11

Sue,

I bring it up, because the meteoric ascension of Barack Obama is turning out to be, IMO a kind of culmination of the "Perfect Storm" in decimating the Republican party. I did not and do not question the ethics of Colin Powell. I merely supposed to empathize with him. You might find it absurd, others might not. I am still speaking IMO only. You still can't poke holes in my assertions, probably can't believe you never thought of it, therefore you have to discount it.  You are trying your best to cloud the truths of the matter, I point out facts and make clear what are my impressions.

Still no takers on any of my questions on "influence".

BeeTree, I asked you to be more specific because I honestly am not sure what you are suggesting.  Now you accuse me of clouding truths"?   Again I ask, What Truths, what Facts, and what Assertions?  I'm sorry, maybe it's just me, but  you are about as clear as mud!

I can't help you if you choose to be obtuse. The answers are there if you really want them. You have to follow the trail, and if I put  them in your hand for you, you will surely never see them.

I either have a point which you can see, or I don't. Take your pick. There are many ways to take this conversation, again take your pick.
