geez, i think all the ladies are interested!  but, you sound too much like my husband. however, he likes ME to train the dogs, he tried early on to get me to trim his toenails (YUCK) and if there's a good game on, i sort of don't exist. he NEVER forgets my bd or any other holiday and we have a gardner. i do buy him cheap beer (bud lite) and sometimes he cries if he hears "El Caballo Blanco"; well, actually, he always cries when he hears that song. i always pay mariachis to play that one (TEEHEE). his fav color is blue and he loves a good steak and baked potato. he rarely goes for walks. he could not talk me into buying him a beer hat and i let the dogs "kill" Billy Bass. but, i do buy him beer and sometimes a nice single malt scotch. (btw, his nose hairs are his own bidness).

51 year old female. Single parent of an 87 year old father living with me. The rest of the bunch includes 3 parrots, 1 cat and 3 wroking German shepherds.

I am passionate about working with dogs. Employed as a paramedic but thinkimg of a career in law enforcement. I love to hike, cook, camp in my pop-up and meet new people.

I do my best to be a good and honest person , My all time favorite place on earth is Key West, Fl.

Hope to some day meet a male of the same persuasion (german shepherd) ( that was a joke) that would just enjoy working dogs too.and maybe become friends and buddies.

Currently working my youngest dog in recovery and schutzhund. My oldest as a certified urban disaster dog

Live in NJ (YUK) too corwded!

Bob-O

The one known as Bob-O is Ing. Robert Forbus. Bob-O is a nickname given to me by the wife's daughter; I think just to tick me off. It backfired on her.

About me? I was born during 1960 in the Rheingau in the tiny village of Niederwalluf and lived there until 1977 when I arrived here and became a citizen of the U.S.A. in 1981. In my youth I was a 6'-4" tall, skinny, and single German farm boy full of attitude, piss, and vinegar and hell-bent for leather trying to see how many notches could be cut on a belt. 1988 was the turning point when I met someone who managed to slow me down a bit-the wife . Sealed the deal in late 1990 but never with children of my own, but the petite pharmacist has a daughter and two grandchildren.

In my late teens I began the looooooong toolmaker's apprenticeship and completed that at the end of 1982as Toolmaker Class 1A-the elite of the craft. Continued school, became a mechanical engineer and worked as an engineering manager until a surprise "retirement" in early 2006. Darned shame being a greybeard! A lifetime spent thus far enjoying German Shepherd dogs, playing with guns, riding motorcycles, and hanging with the brothers (wife calls them thugs-but what does she know about brotherhood?) and keeping a life fairly full. I still work as an engineer but I am now actually just a corporate office pogue with nice clothes, a laptop computer, and frequent-flyer miles. I am now everything I never aspired to be-just a bluejeans kind of guy gone wrong, LOL.

Life has tossed me from shore to shore, and from state to state, but the one (1) thing that never changed was and is my love of the breed from the dogs of my early childhood to the ones I own now.

Regards-Good Thread,

Bob-O

Well I guess I should add myself to the 43 year old females list!  Single with 2 4 legged "kids", Anja age 4 and 1/2 and Henna age 8 months.  Don't do Schutzhund, but enjoy AKC and UKC obedience, AKC rally, herding and tracking, with tracking being my fav.  Lost my first 2 GSD's in the same year (06)  They were both 12 years old and I still miss them terribly.  I grew up with GSD's and it's the only breed I've ever owned.  Only went through my twenties without a dog (was too busy working 2 jobs and partying all the time) to be a responsible dog owner!  Now they and our activities own me!  My family and friends are finally getting used to my 14 year addiction!  I support my habit  by working as an Optometric Assitant at the same place for the last 20 years.  Enjoy getting together with friends for beers (mostly dog people, so we can understand our conversations) and watching the Mariners.

I don't post much but love reading posts and learning.  I've experienced a majority of common GSD ailments unfortunately and like to get involved in health issues.  Bloat/torsion, Epilepsy, Perianal Fistulas, EPI, Hypo Thyroid, and of course Hip Dysplasia  (to name a few ) are what I have had to nurse.

Rozoan

Real name- Janet  Guess I don't need to be shy anymore!  Ro is for my first dog Roscoe, Zo for Zoe, my 2nd, and An for Anja, my 3rd.

I am 37, 3 kids, homeschooling mom.  My husband is a professional climber, currently climbing on K2.  we climbed mt mckinley for our honeymoon (wouldn't suggest it).  I ran a dog sled team for 9 years, competing in the john beargrease and the copper basin distance races.  I was a rookie in the iditarod in 2001 but did not finish.

we have 3 shepherds and 4 border collies.

4pack,

LOVE the chicks with guns!  I met hubby at the gun range when I was learning to shoot.  After many classes, not from him , I did buy some guns from him.  During the second deal I asked him out for dinner.

Coming up on 49 (ouch).  Grew up with horses and pet dogs of various hienz mixes.  Showed AHSA West coast reining, stock seat equitation, working cow horse, then into cutting.  No kids (fine) lots of animals (great)  small ranch with saddle mules, mini-mule, shetland pony,  heritage sheep breeds Scottish Blackface, Shetlands, Kathadins, waiting for my Gottland next year.  Two 13-year-old goats probably won't make it through the winter.  Got hooked big into the Working GSD's (Thanks VBK9  )  Have one 13-year old rescue Amercian shepherd who won't be around much longer. One well bred border collie who doesn't like sheep and goats.  Multiple house cats and barn cats.  One big hairy happy family at home.  Multiple GSD's we're working most toward Schutzhund.  Members of the Cascade Schuthund Club

Live in the Puget Sound region, have worked at Boeing for 23-years. Research and Development and now Quality.  I except things to be done the right way.  Follow the procedures as there are reasons for them being there.  (this goes for dogs too  )
