RatPackKing:

How's the Dog Mahal?  I think yours is the best schutzhund field & club house I have ever seen.  You really did it right.  It's heaven.

Interesting thread.  Thanks for starting it Shepherd Woman.

Male, 62,  married 40 years, one son 37 years old.  CFO for a manufacturing company in the NW US.  Pilot and snow skier before my heart started acting up.  Now, walking or playing with the dog is about it.

Rueger is our 4th GSD.  I joined this site to learn more about the GSD and to learn about options regarding what direction to go with his training.

Luvmidog,

Our last GSD, was named Dax.  We thought the name was pretty unique.  I guess we were wrong.  He was a gorgeous dog, inside and out.

We're heading back up to Washington in November.............you might find Peter & I on your doorstep!  Seriously, I'm going to get the dates of travel & see if you guys will be "clubbing" (dog club) that day.  We would love to stop by & see you Mary & the rest of the gang.

I am surprised by just how many females are on this board. Hardly any males, or else they don't want to give their personal info. Given that the majority of you are into working dogs, I expected more guys!

BabyEagle, I assume what you call the Thunderbird eagle is the Golden Eagle, because that's the only other eagle we have in N. America? They're very rare in the east here, but I have seen one.

If the eagles are allowed to fly free, don't they fight with each other? I thought they were pretty territorial when nesting.

Two years ago, I made a trip to Scotland. I was sitting in a pub on the Isle of Mull, when a group of men came in. They were showing around pictures of this huge bird. I went over to talk to them, and found out it was a sea eagle or white-tailed eagle. They were extinct in the Hebrides for 80 years, then in the 1970's an attempt was made to reintroduce them, using birds from Norway. I think the two fledglings in the pictures were the result of the first successful nesting on Mull in over 80 years! I wished I could have stayed longer, so I could have seen them in the flesh!

The white-tailed eagle is a very close relative of the bald eagle, and is slightly larger.

Arrghhh. Sorry, I'm very keen on nature and wildlife. I'll shut up now before I drag this any further off topic!

(Did you  know there are more red deer on the Isle of Mull than there are people?)

Hi, I'm GoldenElk. 5' 9" 29 year old female. Mom is part African American, Native American and Vietnamese, father is German, Irish. I have 3 pain in the ass brothers, but I love em any way because what choice do I have... I live in the South though I was born on the West Coast, own two dogs, one a GSD the other a mix (I think husky, GSD and maybe some flat coated retriever) and a Sugar glider (a type of flying squirrel). Blood type: b positive. Sign: Scorpio Hobbies: Dogs, camping, target practice, collecting old Chinese coins. I also do lots of community volunteer work. I worked as an elementary school teacher for 5 years, I'm now employed with the fed (housing). I've dabbled in schutzhund, but never found a club who's members I really liked, so lost interest. I'm looking to buy another shepherd next year and may try the sport again if I find a decent club. I like intelligent people who are independent thinkers. Sheeple give me migraines. I come to the database for the entertainment value, but also to learn (on those occasions when serious information is flowing). I thinks it's cool as hell that Don is actually a woman...gotta love the internet :D

My name is Tyler, I'm 25 and live in NE Kansas.  I've been married to the perfect gal for almost 2 years now.  I have 7 year old step son that is great, plus we're trying awfully hard for a baby right now   I work for a soil testing company as a sales rep for lab services/grid sampling/manure management/etc.  So if you live anywhere in the Midwest give me a shout! lol  I enjoy farming on the side with my father and uncle, will hopefully be able to take over one of these days.  I also love to visit Colorado and ski for a week in the winter, however my wife doesn't care much for it.  During the summer, if we're not working, we're on the Missouri river drinking beer and skiing!  We have 2 GSD with a 3rd on her way.  I'm enjoying learning about the sport and can't wait to see what the future holds!

GoldenElk

I came clean.  Im a man, Baby!!!!    I think you missed my post after declaring myself a 76 yr old woman.  I was screwing around because over the course of posting on here, I have pretty much devulged too much info already.  I could tell everyone the truth, but there are too many people on here to wack afterwards.

I'm in my 30's and no I am not totally like my dating ad above.   Physical description yes, personality and everything else, no.  Although I do enjoy beer a bit too much.

I am on my 8th GSD and have been involved in training since I was 18.  Always been into the dogs.
