I went back to the printers and had 1,000.00 Color Copies made  200 8x11 and 800 like 4x4 size,  We went to Pendleton and hung all of the 8x11's and also distributed onto Mailboxes, and vehicles in parking lots 600 of the 800 4x4's   We recieved a call about a GSD by the college,  the nice young man met us in Safeway Parking lot,  But,  Once again this is NOT Dago,  I called the local PD and they met me in WalMart parking lot to retreive the dog so that she could be claimed by her owner,  Very well cared for Female GSD about 3 to 4 yrs. old.  Very sweet and very well mannered.  I am sure she will be reunited with her owners.

The search for Dago continues still....

Echo you are sure doing all you can! I emailed a friend in Camas WA that does alot of training in Portland area. Not sure if its anywhere near you or not. I haven't heard back from her but I am sure she will put out feelers too when she gets the email.

Well today we walked the 7 Mile Levy twice,  Went to a town called Reath distributed flyers there,  talked to residents there, followed the river road for about 8 miles,  Then went back to town area we got a call from the levy area,  a lady had seen him 2 days ago,  then another call that they had seen him at 4pm,  then another call that a guy had seen him around 7pm,  Still on the river and levy area,  I can't understand if this is Dago they are seeing why are we not able to find him ??

Back to the printers in the am to print another 400 of the 4x4 flyers and distribute them again in masses.    We are just too close to quit,  besides quit is not a word I am overly familiar with.

Wyeth continues to recover,  He is resting very well now, and he is getting stronger and stronger all the time,  eating better, and playing, and talking,  He is a couch potato and pillow monkey too we have figured out.  As he gets more comfortable with us he shares more and more and he has alot of character and charm about him.

I hope we are close to finding Dago,  I just want to bring him home !!

Echo the same thing happened when I had lost my girl. I would rush to the area and call & call for her and look for hours. But see nothing. It is because they can move from one area to another very quickly or lay low. Maybe now people know you are looking they will try to help by either catching him or keep an eye on him with cell phone contact until you get there. When I lost Anke cell phones were not being used much and I sure didn't have one.

the humane trap is a good idea - can you get one?

by EchoMeadows on 05 July 2007 - 15:07

eichenluft,  it is an excellent idea,  However there are so many dogs that run loose down there on a daily basis some accompanied by they're owners other not,  that I'm affraid we would end up catching everyone elses dogs, also there are alot of children that play along the river and levy where Dago is hanging out,  He may have even approached a group of kids and played with them,  He loves kids and there were some folks we spoke with who said some kids mentioned a dog that looked like a police dog that played with the kids in the river yesterday but they did not take him home....  Hopfully now that the flyers are ON the levy the WHOLE levy someone will spot him and speak up.

The other problem is that No One around here has any of the Large live traps.

by ProudShepherdPoppa on 05 July 2007 - 18:07

So sorry Echo, I am sure you are doing everything possible.  Make sure when you call him you stop to listen.  He might be trapped or penned up somewhere.  My Chinook was missing for 3 days with me searching franticly.  Started calling and then listening and finally heard barking way off in the woods.  Followed the sound a mile into a swamp and there he was with his front toes caught in a muskrat trap. Luckily there was no permanent damage.

Keep up the hope
