"Who's willing to do some HARD WORK for the sport and the GSD????"

I'd be willing to do all involved in your post on my own property, the police dept here is a go, the military here is a go, citizens with dogs and willingness is a go. You'd be flown in.

Only one Club around here and it's over my mountain and very respectful, they wouldn't like the idea as they stated to me before.

It wouldn't be for GSD only, it would have to be a Sport or Schutzhund event, no breed discriminations. It would be easy to set up and manage in my area, but the club over the mountain would speak against it. As they are Pros and business people with competition. So, we would have to represent a sport ring or such not a club on my own property.

Last fall I advertised a group meeting for sport dogs on my property over the internet and my local paper classifieds and 96 people showed up with 33 dogs, the advert ran for 1 week. Most were city people wanting to spend time with their dogs, eat lots of food and socialize.

We passed out ribbons for fun and did our own thing for the day. Wasn't well organized or nothing and noone special to speak or demo, but for the people and dogs that showed up, they pretty much ran the show them selves. If we needed things or props, everyone donated to shop @ Home Depo.

If it wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg ... I would love to host the Real Deal on my property. The people are around and willing, and most were shunned by the Club over the mountain.

Just letting you know.

SCH III FHII- I'd tell you where to go but I'm gonna be a "lady" just for today.  If I never breed him that's perfectly fine with me- he wasn't purchsed to be a cash cow!  Nuff said?  Funny how we've all never heard of you til now.  Coincidence or conspiricy??

Schbabe- thanks for mentioning that about the videos and to answer your question no no one asked if it was ok with me to post them but hey you gotta consider the source.  I'm not even about to sweat the small stuff I don't think I need to explain myself or Agar.  But I did not appreciate the way this crap and I mean crap spun through here like a tornadoe.  My inbox was full and my phone was blowing up to tell me these videos were all over the net.  If you knew the whole story and the way things got set up you to would say the same thing everyone else told me after the fact- it was a totally unfair situation for the dog he had no chance to win.

You will keep learning. Now you know not to let anyone you don't know video tape your dog. Unfortunatley this one was the hard way. Chalk it up to another lesson learned.

Well then I guess I shouldn't post all my videos on the net then ... indians with dogs and guns is scary for some people. LMAO

I love lessons learned.    We'll have to start wearing those talbians on our head before I publish it.  LMAO  Good idea in a way, thanks.

Aimee    & Agar  : Agar you must please ask Aimee and whoever has the videos published to please remove and give you the videos , not posted on the internet and where ever else, without your written and signed permission....AImee: You cannot take a picture by video or camera, and publish it or sell it or use it without Agars permission....It is clearly stated she knew not  that you were showing it....You can take a pic of her dog and her and yours and everyone else on the field that day or wherever, but you cannot publish it without their permission...

Ok Agar , the ball is in your court.

Luvinmydog- Thank you for clearing that up for me.  You took the words out of my mouth and I was well on my way of doing exactly just that.

Aimee-  I would greatly appreciate it if you would remove the videos and pictures of my dog and I since I did not give you permission to post them on the internet or on this message board and it was done without my knowledge.  I am being nice now and I would appreciate you respect my privacy to remove them immediately.

After reading all this and the other thread, it sure makes me very glad that I live in New England and that all the clubs I have gone to have been very pleasant, helpful, willing and able to help me work my dogs. I am amazed that others have such a difficult time.

I happen to have the only german show line dogs in my working dog club. Not once was I or my dogs treated any differently than any of the other dogs, or members. There are several national and world competitors in my club and they have never treated, me, the novice or any others who would venture to us with anything other than kindness, politeness and honesty.

I occasionally train with another club and made a joke to the helper about my "show dog" his response was, I don't care what kind of a dog it is, as long as it works! I thought that was one of the best things I had heard in a long time.

I know that when I first started "hanging around" my club, there was probably a lot of, "wonder if she'll be back next week?" or "do you think she is ready to give up?" The members were willing to educate me, answer my questions, question me on my goals, offer any assistance they could. No matter how long you have participated in this sport, or just trained, you can't get where you want to go without a supportive club and a safe exceptional helper. I am fortunate that I have that. It is always a group effort. Those who just show up, work their dog and leave, miss the most important exchanges of information.  It is what you put into it, and if you put your all into it, you will be rewarded in ways you cannot imagine. As long as there are folks like there are in my club, there will always be schutzhund up here. It isn't just a sport, it is a way of life for most of us. It is what grounds us, clears our heads from the daily grind of the rat race, what brings us closer to our dogs, and creates relationships and friendships that will last a life time, if properly managed.

I can't believe that the New England region is the only region where each club supports its members, and supports the other clubs. We are always welcome to train at other clubs and other clubs are always welcome to train with us. Afterall, what better way to learn, share ideas, methods or just see what is out there for dogs you might want to entertain the thought of breeding to.

Shame on those clubs that don't welcome the newbies or the person who doesn't have that high drive working dog. If we don't start helping the next generation, more shame on us!

DeesWolf- Consider yourself very very lucky to be where you are training with a supportive kind bunch.  Your thoughts about training are what we all strive for but it doesn't always work out that way here in the wonderful land of the free. lol

I must have hit a gold mine with my club as well. Kind, supporting, and some of the most reputable and experienced people in the sport. We have a wide range of abilities in dogs and handlers, but every single one is worked with the same care. Each dog and handler is helped to be all that they can-if all they can get is a BH, then they are trained. I am newcomer to the sport-absolutely. Loving every minute of it too.

P.S. Its crap ethics to post videos of someone without consent. Shame on you who did that...

If I take anything away from this thread it is that those videos were posted without consent, and those who did it.
