Kalibeck

GSDNewbie- I was also a hardbody once upon a time, but now the 'fluff' ( I like that term!) has taken over... had a back injury, first one knee bad, then the other, now the ankles are sagging...diabetic, asthmatic, I could go on & on, but that's what old folks do, (and I'm old, too!) I don't want to go there yet!!!! Instead I'll huff & puff & run along with my dogs & try not to look too dumb, maybe some cool shades would disguise the fluff?LOL! At least this thread is not fat-bashing, as have previous threads, I'm grateful for that! If I were rich, I'd have one of those endless pools put in, that way my dogs & I could excersize without stressing our joints! jo

You are so talking my language lol I have been drooling over those endless pools as well lol.... I am probably a lil over sensitive to it.. while at the show huffing and puffing around some un kind comments were made in my hearing.

till my body started telling me differently my motto was " age is a matter of mind, you don't mind it doesn't matter " lol

I am sorry I was a lil strong in my asking folks to look behind the shape at who we are before judging why we must be what we are, one day alot of those folks will be there too and will then understand the frustration we have in ourselves much less how others see us.

That's OK---look back  a couple of threads and you'll see where I went off on someone, too! But, the coolest thing is that my  bitch was walking with me 2 Octobers ago, I had just come from my granddaughters Halloween birthday party, I was dressed as a witch. Two older teen agers were walking up the street behind me, my Kali was walking along, heeling nicely, when one of the kids said, in a really sneery, sarcastic voice, "Hey, look at the fat witch! Let's beat up the fat witch!" With no formal training at that point, Kali amazed me by wheeling around, standing up on her back legs so her face was at that kids eye level, and she open her mouth, flipped up her lip, and she ROARED! I thought that kid was gonna faint! I never saw anyone disappear so fast! Kali never even hit the end of her leash, she went back on all fours and walked backwards along beside me until they were out of sight, then just turned around, lifted her pretty head, as if to say, 'took care of that' !!!LMAO!!! I love my dogs! jo

"As far as woman having a harder time staying fit...we have not the time woman used to in the 50's. Now we run the house, kids and a full time job. Are men working harder too to help their woman out? Mine never do. I have to shop for them, do the things they want to do and of course they still go out and have those beers with the guys, which is fine and all but us girls are at home, more than likely dusting the TV and washing the sheets, while you are out with the boys. I know I'm packing on the pounds these last couple of years. I want to go to the gym but after work, I have to make dinner or go buy it anyway, eat, clean up that mess, let it digest, do the how was your day thing, listen to that long draw out story, help with homework, fed dogs/work dogs/walk dogs and by the time my day is free to do what I want...I wanna sleep!"

4pack- You hit the nail on the head!  The only  exercise i get is occasionally doing "16oz. curls" , if that is considered exercise!

IMO having to dust /clean in any way, shape, or form is just plain wrong.  I keep telling my husband it should be left to a professional, but  after 15 years I still have to do it myself

andreddi I'm no personal trainer, but you may want to bump those 16oz curls to a 24 or even 40oz for a harder workout! God I wish I could hang out and drink beers with people but I can't stand the stuff!

Why are so many Schutzhund folks...fluffy?

Cause I eat french fries and drink Dr Pepper while I sit on my booty all day!

Because Kalibeck post recipes and I lick the monitor.

Because most of the clubs have grub that's so damn good at training, you can't keep your hands out of it!

Because of my dogs, I can't afford a personal trainer, for myself. The damn dog has one but I don't.

Because my dog has a stricter diet than I do. I fasted my dog yesterday. I kept telling myself, "you should do the same porker".

Because it's either too damn hot or too damn cold to go outside!

Because I don't have the same "active" job I used to.

Aww hell...just cause I'm lazy, and I like it that way right now!
