I was at a wedding two months ago and there was a German Shepherd Guide dog at the wedding.

A client of ours has also raised two GSD pups for the seeing eye in Morristown, NJ.  One of which went into their breeding program.  So, yes they are still being trained for the Seeing eye!

I actually saw a sable  colored coated GSD guide dog in my local supermarket a few months back, plus the dog had conformation like a show line not working line dog.  Hows that for weird.  Ordinarily I would have wondered if I was drunk but someone else saw it too.

I saw a seeing eye dog that was a GSD at Costco a few months ago.  They are out there...

Jeff:  If you look at the May/June 2007 issue of Schutzhund USA, you will see an article entitled "A Legacy of Versatility, Form & Function" by Officer Mike Andrell, the partner of Tony Silbersee and Jaeger Silbersee.  These dogs are the epitome of what GSDs should be.  Active police dogs,  multiple V conformation ratings & many, many times SchIII.  I don't know Chris personally but she deserves a lot of respect for her breeding program.

And oh yeah, she has a nice black working gal by the name of Chuckie!

Kudos to those who own GSDs for the first time and BLOAT taking all credit that their dog can bite... (the dog definitely can bite because he was bred to be a dog and not a couch potato) The dog is better than his master because he knows when there is aggression or threat but not because it is the whim of the handler or owner who knows nothing but bark about his accomplishment on this dog which was actually doing what it was designed to do...

Huh???

If you people can't read and comprehend, you have a bigger problem than your dogs.  Read it again!  I'm pretty sure he meant that he doesn't want a good looking dog that can't work, prancing around the ring.  JOKE!  What do you have, a third grade reading level?

I agree that his words are very clear.  It's Marci that I sometimes have difficulty understanding.
