yellowrose the all airlines have not banned the shipment of APBT's. EVER. more misinformation. some airlines don't ship dogs period. any dog. let's try and keep it factual for fear of adding to the fals propaganda.

Ok tHEN   Tell us what airlines do ship them.......I read that fact in a Times magazine at the car dealers about 6 months ago...and have been told that by many breeders....

SO if you ship, please supply the names of the airlines that do ship them.......Out of Texas , if I wanted to ship one ......

I will correct my own post,,,I just called 4 airlines,  delta, continental  SWest  and North East and all of them stated: 

We do not shipp   any   Adult Pit Bull animals....    we will ship a pit bull Puppy that is under 6 mos of age and under 20 lbs.

Proof of animal age must accompany the vet health certificate stating dob and sign a waiver that this animal is not to be used in fighting....Of course, they are a federal Airways controlled agency and cross state lines regulated by federal laws including Dog Fighting....

You should call American too, that is who we use because of the 50% military discount.

I have owned 3 pits in my life and must say I loved everyone.  No, they are not for just anyone to have and more so when children are around.  However, I wouldn't say you shouldn't own one if you do have kids.  Not long ago a boy, can't remember where,  went into his backyard to feed his dog before getting on the school bus.  The dog grabbed the boy by the head and didn't stop until he was dead.  The dog was a German Shepherd.  This story was barely covered by the news, why?????  People fear pits like no other dog, they are stronger than us and are like playing with a loaded gun, SOMETIMES.  It is ignorant people who purchase ANY dog to protect the yard, be aggressive, blah blah blah.  I took my pits everywhere with me, there was a big difference in people that would approach him.  Not to be rude, but lower class people would always approach first and older and upper class would not.  The upper class would look at me like I was a criminal.  There needs to EDUCATION for the breed.  I also believe there should be laws and regulations on who can purchase and own the dogs.  My heart goes out to the family and the little girl. 

I have said this on this board and others and get blasted by the "My pit is so sweet and wouldn't hurt a fly" crowd every time. These dogs were BRED FOR AGGRESSION !!   What part of that do you NOT understand???  Yes, yours may be OK, today, tomorrow, or the day after, but it only takes one time that it is not OK and someone is in the hospital or worse.  Could someone please explain to me the logic behind owning one of these?  What need do they fulfill that could not be met as well if not better by another breed?

If you want to know what the GSD was bred for read von Stepanitz' book or the breed standard as to what the temperament should be.  Are there aggressive GSDs? Yes there sure are, but that was not the point of the breed.  As to your second question on segregation or genocide, why don't you ask the mother of that child what she thinks about that?  I also asked a question in my post that you, in your hysteria, failed to answer, so I am still wondering. Insulted ?  Give me a break, that is just laughable.
