Ceph

Awsome topic :)

I tend to look more at the topic title, and it usually takes me a while to get into those even....but for people whose posts I stop for when scrolling down the endless pages of the long threads - usually Do Right, Blitzen, Shelley, SchHBabe, MVF, Agar, Ehret, Bob-o, DH, and olskool - thats all I can think of off the top of my head though.

The ass grabber has got to be Abhay...

Shelley and Trafalgar.

I choose by topic first. Within posts I tend to have an attraction to posters who evaluate data/input and draw conclusions based on the "facts at hand" rather than those posters who ALREADY have an opinion are are solely looking for evidence/material to support it. In other words: I believe people SHOULD be looking as carefully at the things that DISPROVE their own opinions AS MUCH AS they're looking for things that back up their current opinions. Without DETACHMENT from existing beliefs it is very difficult to uncover truth because one is blind to everything that might change previously drawn conclusions. Therefore, as a general rule, I tend to like posters for their ability to discuss things rationally and avoid unfounded assumptions. Certainly - original outlook and original ideas go A LONG WAY towards the "enjoyment factor". Some people who have been involved in dogs for a long time feel they have earned a "get out of the need for objectivity" card - and claim "experience" as a substitute for proper empirical observation and data analysis. I'm neutral to "reputation" or "experience" as far as the posts and posters are concerned. I hope I'm making myself clear. Finally, I'm not attracted to posters who are abusive towards - or filled with personal criticism of - other people. MVF is a good example of a great poster, IMO. Thanks for the interesting topic, SS.

this is kind of like the Grammy award speaches..... I would like to thank Don Corleone for making me laugh and Bob-O for inspiring me to greatness, though I have only achieved occasional mediocrity."

Wait... I hate the Grammy speaches.   I read and appreciate people who make the effort to try to understand others, not malicious sensationalism.  I have lately been really depressed about the GSD and really wanted kind of a mentor relationship with someone whom I would consider as wiser (not hard to find) and yet kind (far harder to find).   I dont find total agreement with someone nearly as important as wilingness to listen and try to respond without one sided hostility.

Wait a minute, Blitzen, did you just grab my ass?  or was it Cate?  Mr. Zadir told me that both of you girls were checking it out!  I can call Doug Butabi and we can swing by and pick you girls up.
