Ya,  I have the real birds. LOL   Not in cages or anything but they congregate on my mountain and never leave they end up being tame. I feed them beef and chicken everyday and they have their babies here. 4 are trained and I'm working on the rest.

BabyEagle, last time I looked, it was called the BALD Eagle, not the American Eagle! We have 'em up here in Canada, too, you know...

And the last time I saw one, it was following along behind an osprey, hoping to steal itself a free lunch.  If I'd been American, I would have been wanting to replace it with something else as the national symbol!

Anyway, WAY COOL hobby! WOW!

i'm 51 yrs old (yikes - it does sneak up on you!), with the same man for 26 yrs, married for 22. i have 4 adult stepkids, ranging from 48 yrs to 29yrs and have a 14 yr old son. i have 5 stepgrandkids and 3 step greatgrand kids. i also have a wonderful 12 yr old nephew, 3 adult nieces (all wonderful) and 8 greatnieces and nephews.  born and raised in southern cal; husband born and raised in san antonio (one of my fav cities, except in the summer!). we're starting to look into someplace to move when he retires (he's 71). i would prefer someplace much cooler and less populated and he likes mexico. my husband is 1/2 tex/mex (his late dad was born in tex in 1897) and 1/2 pueblo (late mom was full indian from albuquerque). he was in his 30's, she was 12 when they married, she had my husband at 13 (the first of 18; only 8 survived). i'm english,scotttish, irish, german (my son is named after my german ancestor who came here in 1804), french, norwegian and cherokee -  i'm the heinz 57 variety american. i haven't worked in about 20 years, but i am a volunteer. i've done the elementary volunteering (sometimes 5 days/wk), i've run 24 bookfairs for the schools, etc, i taught english to adult taiwanese for 2 years, worked with kids who had trouble reading and am hoping to get angus and myself into a literacy help program (where the kids who won't read to an adult will read to a dog). need my coffee in the a.m, but quit smoking cold turkey about 16-17 years ago. i quilt, paint, draw and i love to read.  am very close to 1 of my sisters and 1 of my bros. my folks have been married for 58 yrs (on xmas eve) and they ride a harley sometimes on the weekends.  i used to scuba when i was younger (i have snorkeled off the great barrier reef in australia -fabulous). love australia, canada, new zealand and mexico - someday i want to see the uk and europe. altho i don't hunt, my husband and son do. my husband and i both fish, but he prefers ocean and i prefer trout fishing in lakes and streams (with my dog). i've always had animals (i was the kid who brought home strays) and altho i really like cats (last one died 3 yrs ago at 22), our mali-mix is very prey driven. i really really love the dogs. most dogs in fact, tho i will never have another terrier of any kind. cute, but make me crazy. big dogs for me. i like good beer and good wine and ice tea. would love to go back to college, but am still not sure what i want to be when i grow up.

There's two types of Native American Eagles the Bald and Thunderbird, I have both here and the Thunderbirds are way bigger in size and most have a solid body compared to the Bald.  It's my pleasure to have them around.

Don't worry about the kids.  They are highly overrated.  Kind of like heroin.  If you have never do it, then you won't miss it/them.  Once you try it/them, you are hooked and bound till you die.

juvenile golden eagleSunsiver:   The American Eagle is not only the Bald Eagle , our National Bird , but consists of other species of the Eagle family that are true to the North American Continent....the Golden Eagle seen in the pic I posted is a part of the American Eagle  so I assun Baby4 eagle has different kinds of American Eagles....like when you say I havae a Cadillac   there are 15 different kinds of Cadillacs.

WOW, I just got home from my 2 days away and opened up the forum right away, as usual, lol. It's great that so many of you went along with this and posted about yourselves.  It's nice to know the people behind the name : - }

pietowndogs and others, thanks for the great comments about this thread.  I've only been on this forum for a few months, I think and as you all see, I am not afraid to say what I think, most of the time, or post something that I would really like to know about.  Can't find out unless you ask, right ? ; -}}}  Thanks again all.  Keep posting, this is fun, lol.

My shock of this posting is  that    THE DON     is a woman   .......amazing discoveries lay behind the screen of a computor ...

How many of you knew Don was female??????? One of my favorite posters......I have always suspected that Don was in Schutzhund as a Judge or a trainer or has trained and titled a few gsds......
