Two Moons, That was not a scolding. That was meant to be an answer if you want information it's best to ask on it's own thread.  Many read the title of the thread, and who started it, as their deciding factor on looking at it or not.

Hodie, Animules, Louise and Bob-O, I totally agree........................Shepherd Woman if I see one more pic of Chaos I will puke..................that's why my usual rule is if I see anything with your name on it I don't go there because I know it's not going to amount to a hill of beans.  I came here originally to learn.  That seems to be going by the wayside because as I have said before too much froo froo going on.  A little humore and extras is OK but I think this was set up for the discussion of the GSD.  I miss the harder people that were on here once upon a time..................I know I am going to get flamed but so what it's nothing new..................................

vonissk Sounds like you have a small problem, LOL.  I looked back on some of your post.  Looks like you don't like the long coat at all and that's why you are sooo testy about the subject.

Secondly when I was at the UKC show I got beat by a longcoat!  Hmmm, maybe the long coat was better looking than your sable?????????  Hmmm

My boy and I went to the UKC shoiw Sat. and he got a trophy and first place for best male!  Hmmmm was he the only male????? Just wondering, LOL.  And very bad stack if you ask me, hun.  JMO, lol.

Vonissk . I miss the harder people that were on here once upon a time.................. They are still watching but less and less. They also came to learn and exchange but were caught up in the torrent of crap that flies so free these days. They have been forced to become ghosts like the PDB Spook 101. Sad times in the neighborhood indeed.

Vonissk, you have multiple supporters. The one that flames you doesn't even know what is acceptable coat wise in a GSD. Don't sweat it.

realcold, Glad to see you're still around.  The article indication is coming well. Thanks for the info.

Yeah thanks for my supporters......................

And no I don't have the problem because I do have a dog that fits the standard and that's what's important to me.  The other GSD forum you mentioned I think you should go there--they have all kinds of topic listings and lots of longcoat people over there..  With the kind of things you talk about then you would fit right in.

And I will also say this--I called the UKC and complained about the judge because she didn't know the standard.  Anytime a dog has a SERIOUS DQ and gets put up over a dog that is bred to the standard there's a problem........so it won't happen again. And anytime a dog is solid black with silver feathers and the man is telling people it's a black sable--NOT--tells me he knows nothing about our breed wither.  You and him should hang out together.

You're right, I don't care for the coats because I don't think they're pretty and thjey're not bred to the standard. By the way whether I beat one dog or 10 is not your biz..........................

Not going to talk to you anymore because it's like talking to a wall..............and I am not the onlyone who feels this way.

And the reason my stack doesn't look like a lot of other peoples' is my dog is not built that way and everybody has to learn.  If I was going to take stacking advice you'd be the last one I'd take it from..................

(Louise, you go girl!)

The strengths of this forum are also its weaknesses:  The forum is open to anyone, and largely unmoderated.  The good news is that there is no stifling of the flow of information.  The bad news is that people can create an anonymous ID and try to pass themselves off as experts.

I try to put an eye on the forum every day to see if there's good stuff being discussed, as opposed to the usual witch hunts, flame wars, and the "my dog is the bestest ever!" crap.  I personally have learned some things, but it is tedious to wade through the muck to get to the pearls o' wisdom.

IMO, the best improvement to this forum would be to break it into sections... "Training Questions", "Breeders Corner",  "Brags", etc.  If we had some categories, it would help focus the posts a bit.  Right now it's just all one section... "Spray and Pray (that someone reads your post)".

Other than that, you can't change human nature, and one of the greatest proverbs just might well be... "a man's way seems right in his own eyes" (and yes that applies to the ladies as well).  Unfortunately there's not a lot of real discussion going on here, because a lot of folks post with their minds already made up... they have an opinion that they believe to be true and nothing's going to make them budge.
