Cobined?
by Blitzen on 04 December 2007 - 05:12
Is "cobined" a word?
Cybertramps, another good one, DW. Sorry I can't stick around for more of your thought provoking musings, but I just broke one of my acrylic nails opening the Old Mil can and I need to fix it before the old man comes home from working the graveyard shift at the waste water treatment plant. But tomorrow is another day. Nightie night................

I see you have backed off the thread Preston told you off on. Are you so stupid not to know he reads this one and all the other ones you have made such an ass of yourself on as well? Do you think what he said does not apply to every thread on this board?

Wow !!
Excellent posts everyone. !!
Blitzen, and sueincc----
I Do hope Novices are INFLUENCED , By all of this. !!! There is a Ton of knowledge to gain by reading all of these posts with and OPEN MIND.
People that you are refering to ;
" jumping up and down, thinking goodie goodie, now I don't have to have guilt breeding my untitled , unsurveyed Dogs "
First of all this male is titled and surveyed G rated, He qualifies.
Secondly, the people that just breed to breed and don't give a thought to titles or surveys or working there dogs, or EVEN learning more about this breed.
AREN'T ON THIS BOARD !
How in the world Do you think people become , WISE, KNOWLEDGEABLE, AND EXPERIENCED BREEDERS ??
It is called Experiental Learning. Meaning you have to start somewhere, and then you need to experience it, an make a ton of mistakes along the way to learn, then you hopefully get better, and then you hopefully get good, and eventually hopefully become A GREAT BREEDER !! And it doesn't stop, as a breeder one is always looking to imrove, and learn. I know I am always on the quest for more knowledge, and willing to look at what others do , to see if that is something I am interested in incorporating as a breeding practice or not. But, ultimately I am on My OWN Journey, therefore I am the one that will decide what I take from this Board and what I leave. " GOOD OR BAD "
Lets say hypothetically there are two littermates, Males :
1 long coat, Sch 3, kkl1
2. standard coat , Sch 3 , kk1
Let's say that one bitch is used with both of these males , two seperate pregnancies. She does not carry long coat in any current generations
Now we know what the coat out come will be, it has already been discussed, but what will the drives, temperment, structure, physicall soundness,. be.?? WHAT IF???? THE LONG COAT MALE PRODUCES MUCH MORE SUPERIOR TO THE STANDARD COAT ?? Now , some people want to argue " These bloodlines are very common, therefore this male couldn't possibly contribute more than some other dogs from the same bloodlines " Well, this statement is very HIPOCRITICAL !!
Reminds me of the Famous " E " litter boys , both fantastic dogs !! Turned out one was a better producer than the other. But, they came from the same bloodlines, so no point in looking to the more superior producer , after all.
You can not move forward in breeding , if you decide in Hast, with out being Objective, that one dog is better than another, with out really looking at the entire picture. And I mean REALLY LOOKING WITH OBJECTIVITY !! And once again, I will say , " this is all Done by Experiental Learning ! " You won't know until you try ! It might be a mistake and it might be the best decision a breeder could have ever hoped for. !!
Also, As far as dogs being bred without titles here goes:
There are good dogs in this country, that came from the Old Stock back
