To Breed or not to Breed a LC , That is the question.

The answer? It doesnt matter to me but I will take one of those LC's in a heartbeat, for the pure beauty of it. Would look lovely walking down the road with me :)

Sueinc, Do you really believe that only people with half a brain would buy a dog based on Titles and certs only??????

There are so many dogs/pups bought from Germany/Czech republic in which the people haven't seen the dog, couldn't tell you anything about grandparents or greatgrandparents, and don't know anything about the history of the Kennel other than its a name of something famous. Now, I ask you what are these people basing their purchase on???? Seen it time and time again! I go up to the people and ask them about the dogs lines and they barely can tell me the name of both parents much less the strengths /weaknesses of the line. Often times they tell me proudly that both or one of the parents are SCH 3 , the highest working degree you can get in Germany. Then when the dog gets on the field they are perplexed when the dog is so marginal in working. I've seen it too many times, so what did these people make their decision on in purchasing the dog in the first place. And guess what; they will breed that dog also!!!! Does this sound familar to any people on this board?  Look, I am not downing titles and certs, I'm just saying that poor breeding comes from unknowledgable breeders with or without titles. And since the credibilty of the working title is what it is today, NOBODY should be throwing any stones. ps the scenario I listed above occurs more with German dogs than Czech dogs but there are Czech lines that are known for throwing dysplasia and I see people from Here getting these dogs and as soon as they breed the dog 3 or 4 dogs in the litter don't certify in hips. But since they imported titled dogs the sin is mitigated....Yeah Right!!  Enough of my point, I'm through and again I applaud dogs that have titles and Certs, just doesn't mean as much to me as others.

I think so.  Prudent folk learn even a little bit of research on the net warns  just because a dog is titled or imported does not guarantee quality.  From there, going to trials & clubs (watching & learning) will provide more knowledge.  Make friends with a few folks who can help point them in the direction of good breeders/importers.

There will always be those who jump without looking never very wise in my book.

Looks like Dog Whisperer is pouting since his thread was removed by Oli. Looks like he is trying to get our threads booted to by being a jackass. He's starting to act and sound like Uglydog.

"your offsspring would not only be ugly but to stupid to eat."  (Dog Whimperer)

So, let me understand this,  that would be  opposed to someones offspring that would be good to eat ???!!!???
