Molly,

Your opinion, and you are entitled to it.  Opinions are like anuses--everyone has one.  Some just show their anus  more than others.   You protest entirely too much...again.  Your actions and posts DO say it all: in case you haven't figured it out,   NO ONE accused you, certainly not I,  yet here you go, name-calling and showing your ass, because you immediately ASSume that the reference is to you.  Sounds like a guilty conscience.

Enough said.

Oli,

Thank you for  your time and efforts to keep the database going.

I must ask you, is there any chance you can stop the foul language that is spoken by some here.

There is one particular thread going now where one member is speaking in the most low class style of foul language and it should not be acceptable.

This member has done it twice so far on this thread towards the bottom. You'll find it on the thread called.

Hey all you long coat lovers and UKC people, check this out!

It would be nice if this posters illappropriate language could be removed from this thread. I beleive the offenders name is 4pak or something alike that.

Thanks

Sue, imagine this forum as a bulletin board in a very large city on a very popular corner. Tons of good people come along and post interesting things and it is usefull to the community. But being that this bulletin board is publicly accessible to everyone you are going to have things randomly put on that board that are not appropriate to it's intended purpose. What do you do to keep your bulletin board clean? You don't have all day everyday to watch this board so you have a couple of people in the neighborhood that you know well periodically check up on the board and take the things down that you don't want on it.

Delegating responsibility frees up the site owners time to concetrate on other aspects of the site while keeping the forums clean.

"Different boards choose moderators in different ways. As noted, on some boards moderators are just friends of the owner. On more serious boards, administrators and senior staff generally choose moderators from among long-time, respected, level-headed members.

There are generally sufficient volunteers for moderator positions that it's unnecessary for even large, professional boards to pay them." ~ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forum_moderator

Birdy pull the stick out. Oli has more important things to do than worry about a few cuss words. Would you rather hear the truth bluntly or bullshit eloquently? What is illappropriat anyway, appropriate when it's sick?

I don't know Oli, so I don't know that he feels the need to delegate any responsibility.  His original post asked "What to do with the lurking trolls?".  I don't  agree with your premis that  this board needs to be "fixed" or "cleaned up".   I think Oli does a fine job as it is.

My suggestion would to be echo that of some of the other posters:  remove the trolls, including those using multiple aliases. Perhaps also change the format or whatever, so that people must register with their real names and non-yahoo/hotmail etc.  email addresses, and those real names show up when a registered poster clicks on the name?   And also remove anyone with multiple names under the same IPs,  IF it can be shown that it is a case of someone actually posting under aliases  from posting at all, ( actual, as opposed to  occasional fluke or the apparent gltich, such as is the apparent case with Dees Wolf-).  That way no one could post anonymously, or uner an alias, which has led to the same individuals repeatedly engaging in harassing behaviors when they fall off their medication.

Also, the miscreants whose developmental challenges requires them to devolve to name-calling and other infantile behavior, because they lack the intellect and self-control to conduct themselves in an adult manner when "stressed,"  need to removed.  You would not stress a POS dog repeatedly, just to see it show itself to be a fear-biter, why do it to a person?

4Pack...I for one and I'm sure others aren't here to read your "trailer" trash mouth. Can't you write a sentence without the purulent blather.

In one thread you insult people who need pychiatric service dogs, in this one you insult people who live in mobile homes.  What makes you think you have any room to throw stones at anyone?

I do not use nasty low trash words like that. I defend the Service dog issue. Have anything else you want to defend the piss mouth of 4pack?

Do you ever have anything to say without putting down others as well? Most of your post have something to say negative towards others.

You are a bully just like a lot of the so called GSD people here.

This place is suppose to be for others to exchange information NOT to piss on each other and tear them down.

No wonder all the old timers have left and people like me who have been here a while don't post much and others have become bitter.

It's not worth the trash that most of you spew from your mouths, You few are ruining the message board and won't be happy until Oli decides to just take it down.

Shame on all of you who are guilty of this deed.

Birdy...

Really?  Let me refresh your memory with just one example of many:

"I see so many people out there who abuse the system by claiming they need a "psychiatric" service animal.
No real training these dogs require at the moment. I understand that because of the abuse by so called "nut cases" who say they need a dog, will now need a note on a letter head froma psychiatrist to be able to take the dog into a community building." (Birdy)

Birdy,  Why are you such a hypocrite?  You are so busy calling  myself and 4pack names & cursing, but I guess you think it's ok for you, yet you whine to Oli when you don't like what others have to say.  Pitiful.
