At what age, and how, can you tell if puppies are long coated, rather then a plush coat? Someone told me a long time ago something about hair between the toes, but I don't remember now.

Thanks in Advance.

I generally know by 3 weeks sometimes 4-5 depending if they are really on the border of going either way.

I look for that Terrier look.

Compare to the other pups in the litter... plush coats don't generally look like terriers

I have the same problem of not being able to tell. However, at about five weeks I can definitly be sure. Usually hair standing on top of the puppy's head and longer hair on the legs is a good sign that the pup is going to be a long coat.            Al
