Mystere

Trailrider,

If  you  look at Ryker's pedigree, the dam side is German lines and working lines at that.  Kriegerhaus is Phyllis Dobbs (formerly Hiat, hence the Hiatt in some of the names).   She has been in schutzhund since it began in this country.    The top side, YES, that is as American as Applie Pie...for a gsd.     Just goes to show how important that dam-line is!!!!!

Also, isn't Ryker none other than Warren and Sami Jones' first schutzhund dog.  Both are still involved in schutzhund today.  Warren is currently an apprentice judge in USA.   Ryker is not unlike a lot of gsds from folks early in their schutzhund career or exposure--lots of people got into it with Ambreds (I am sorry, but the ASS is so disrespectful and insulting to my mind that I refuse to use it any more, regardless of it being coined by an Ambred devotee).   Warren now has a Malinois, so he has completely gone to the dark side.

Mystere yes Warren and Sammie's dog Ryker. The pics below the pedigree are of Warren, I almost missed those. Also I think some American on the bottom too, maybe not showlines but Wenatchee's Armando, Rogue XVII, Miss v Portney and Sun Shine's Daisy Mae don't sound to German to me.  I saw Sammie a few years back at a rest area and she had a Mal with her I think (and her son), going west to train. I think a GSD too, maybe wrong. Saw her at the vets too, getting an OFA done in Missoula on her sable female, maybe about 7-8 years old now. I heard she got a SchH2 on her. Don't know the dogs name.

I went to my first show this year for the obedience, I didn't even go watch the GSD conformation ! I thought about it but it was hot and I just wanted to get back home when the class was over, didn't even do lunch with friends. So I don't know what is out there anymore. I just know 20 years ago they said it couldn't be done with the Am. showlines too, so I am open to believing it still can.

For your information.I do get my butt (and it is not big at all!) off the computer and train my dogs today. We did 6km run (4GSD 1 airedale), that was after we did a little obedience(starting retreive) and I do have a bitch that wil be shown at the national (but she's a veteran) the others are not ready yet. i'm crrently training another bitch for all breed and another one who will be ready for her CD in about a month.

Even if I wanted to do schutzhund around here the only club that make sense is a 2 1/2 hour drive from my house..so much for that!

There was 2 club before but way too much testosterone destroyed them both!! Finding a good decoy to work a dog around is not very easy..

Hey..I work 14 hours shift 3 days a week..When I don't work..I do some computer too!

Trailrider,

I was all over Warren and Sammie's website. I have to say I like their style. The "True Stories" and "Dog Quotes" pages made me laugh out loud. I really like the vibe you get from their site. They seem like good people, kind and compassionate (did I spell that right? It doesn't look right to me).

It has been years, and I never knew them real good, but I would say they are good people! I remember when after all those years... Sammy got pregnant!

The much larger club is having their national. The GSSCC championships and Seiger show are in your backyard on the long weekend in August. Just drive down the road and enter. At this show every dog gets a critique. You will miss a great opportunity to see some great dogs in your neighbourhood. Website is up and current. http://www.gssccnational2008.com/  Hope to see some of you there.
