Does anyone have any leads on kennel warmign devices. I looking for something that will allow me to warm my indoor kennel area during the dead of the midwest winter. I got a little taste this week wind chill -6 and I heard that isn't anything. Any websites, leads etc would be much appreciated.

Are you thinking of a portable type heater? If you are, I would go with a garage/shop heater myself. They are made to heat more open areas and are safer. I've never bought off of this particular site, I'm just giving you some example of them. http://store.yahoo.com/air-n-water/elutheatclic.html

Doomsayer, I just built a state of the art kennel in the mid-west. I live in an area where we can get severe wind chill. I used, for that reason, no kennel doors to communicate directly to the outdoors. The kennel is designed with a central corridor and small corridors that dogs walk through to get to outside play areas or outdoor runs. It works well. For heat, if you are looking to heat any large space, I highly recommend radient heaters suspended from the ceiling. I have large propane fueled units and though they were not cheap, they are excellent. They warm the concrete, the walls, the dogs etc. There are design criteria that must be met such as clearances etc., so do not just do it without checking with someone who knows how to choose and install for your particular situation. Good luck.
