Hey, folks. I've got a question, and one that can probably be answered by Dog1 (his young Ursus and Renaldo via Larus), JanisN(Tito), and Beth Coats (if she's here)----(Jag). I've read in numerous instances that Ursus-line pups are slower to develop physically than other line dogs. Is that your experience? I have one 14 month old pooch, an Ursus/Zorro Arlett grandson, who has a large frame, has pushed the limit of the standard, is handsome and masculine as _____, has the Ursus pigmentation and look, and who still looks like a pup. A real pup. His frame, chest, croupe, and stature are there, but he's still so much like a pup (a real pup) it's funny. I'm not talkin' as compared to a typical 14 month old GSD. Much different than I've seen with, say, Rikkor progeny, Bax dogs, Wienerau pups, Kirshental dogs, and typical Arlett-line pups. I'm not sure about Yasko or Larus pups, however. Is this proposition for the "dogs", or do you find it to be accurate? If accurate, how long before they REALLY start to mature, as compared to other lines? I know he's young, but developmentally he's taking longer than the pups from other lines. Thanks folks!!!!!! Dog1, did Renaldo have an end of the season matching his initial home-run success, or did he take a break? RedDoggie

Some of the answers to your original post on this question are buried under the co-ownership post, several replies long! Strange how even some innocent material develops its own legs!
