Silbersee

My apologies - the dead last dog with an SG-3 rating in Aachen was not Evan, but rather his litterbrother Enzo von den Grauen vom Monstab! I just checked!

I have a american showline dog and he does not move like that or wobble when he is stacked and the last dog show i was at in canada none of the show dogs moved like that. If he did move like that or stack like that i would not even bother showing him.

Silbersee well atleast my dog isnt a goddamn wobbly hock walker! She is a working dog in a showline body. I know my female doesnt have a superb front but atleast her hind angulation is much better than the dogs in that video and atleast shes not a frog mix and isnt as badly cow hocked as Zamp is! She has a good croup and topline so what if her front is just ok! IMO she is much better than the wobbly hock walkers seen at crufts! Silber Now you say that Zamp isnt a high achiever in the protection field, but he is very beautiful! The founder of this breed had drives, temperament, courage, confidence and defense drives in mind when he made this breed. My female has all. So what is shes not a hock walker and is not as badly cow hcoked as Zamp Thermodos is! My female is still SG rated. But is she a wobbly hock walker? NO she isnt! Dogs like Zamp succeed in looking while running around in circles! But are they actually proper gsds? No they arent! Theyre PRETTY BOYS and thats about it!While flocking and tending and guarding sheep, an imposing goat comes up to Zamp and BAAAM HES GONE RUNNING LIKE A LITTLE PUSSY CAT! Working lines dont do this! They are proper german shepherds! Its because of people like you that this breed is suffereing form immunity disorders, extreme cow hocks, timid and shy personalities, no courage what so ever! etc! And the the judge at crufts is friggin idiot! DAMN HIM! Oh and silbersee any showline can play tug of war with their handler! And a medicore front is a small price to pay! My female has all the desired traits of a true working dog! Has endless stamina and can trot all day long if she has to! Superd prey, defense and fight drive! Hind angulation is good, good hocks are a bit close but are well muscled and do not show an egg beater when moving. She has a good topline and croup. I wasnt asking for a critique I know her strenghts and weaknesses very well now thanks to some local judges who are better the ones at crufts! I just wanted to know whether you guys thought she looked different! God save this breed!

Silbersee, good post!

The Crufts judge (Terry Hannan) is well respected... pretty much world wide.  He has bred both show and WT Champions.  I am certain that he would never slate anyone based on a very few mins of edited TV, he is smart enough to know better!

If I may add a different perspective, it's my feeling this series of videos has a not-so-hidden agenda to make people less likely to purchase a purebred dog.  I can guarantee you that the person filming this series sought out the very, very unsound dogs from among sound ones to film.

I can tell you from firsthand experience that mixed breed dogs have epilepsy, and dysplasia, and auto-immune disease.  They are not free of hereditary conditions.  Purebred dogs supposedly have more hip dysplasia, but more purebreds are screened for the disease.  The owner of an asymptomatic but dysplastic mongrel isn't going to spend money on OFA films.

In addition, I've owned purebred dogs who lived to be well over 16 years old.  One lived past her 18th birthday.

This is anti-purebred propaganda, and it's linked to those who would take away our right to own the breed or breeds that suit us the best.

Micky, you are largely right of course... it's mainly headline grabbing trash but with enough truths to make it tragic in some cases.

If Zamp was so unsound... they'd have been able to show some decent footage, indeed, I'm sure that would have suited them very well; we got a few seconds... need we say more?

And the few seconds we got of ZAMP he is standing still,   there is no video footage on that clip of  him moving.

First of all i apologise to everyone who has seen said footage and discussed it to death.I swore blind i would not comment further, but i just can't not say something. MISSBEEB, SILBERSEE AND MICKY D,excellant posts, aristian M,what planet are you on? Ihave never read such nonsense in my life,i do not like to slate a dog but you can hardly compare ZAMP to the dog in your thread. There is just no comparison what so ever!!!!!! I do not care what anyone has told you about your dog,it is less than average and will never be anything else. The sooner you accept this, the better maybe you can then move on,learn, and next time you just might get a dog that might come up to the standard of Zamp.Although i doubt it,as you do not get many of his quality to the dozen.  WAKE UP MAN,AND OPEN YOUR EYES!!!!!!!!  liz
