Sorry, I misunderstood you.  When you said "and we don't know exactly what he has done to deserve this kind of faith" I interpreted that as you asking what has Obama done to garner Oprah's support.  Hence, my above response.

I suppose like all of middle America, people like  General Colin Powell, Former Bush Secretary Scott McClellan, Former Governor William Weld, Former Governor Arne Carlson (all Republicans) and Warren Buffet don't think for themselves and have been hypnotized by Oprah too?  Because you know, they are backing him too.

I do agree with you to a point.  I know people are very interested in who celebrities and other people of merit and interest are voting for; however, I believe rather than stopping there and making a decision based on WHO the celebrity is voting for, most people are intelligent and  they choose to read and investigate further to determine the reasons WHY that person is endorsing any particular candidate,  and then determine how it effects them in their own life.

This just in!!!!

I have seen the video of Barack Obama's appearance at the goodbye party for Palestinian terrorist apologist Rashid Khalidi held by the LA Times!!!!!:

There are PLO and Hamas flags decorating the room, along with Che and Mao posters. Khalidi, Ayers and Obama are slapping each others' backs, raising their glasses and toasting the upcoming destruction of the racist Zionist entity, all the while laughing at the thought of the final Final Solution. Obama says, "You know, when I take over, the first thing I'll do is withdraw all aid from those fascist kikes, and I'll give the Palis a couple nukes." Then he turns to Ayers, and asks him if he's come up with any fresh schemes for mass murder of the millions of recalcitrant capitalists, so that they can be implemented in the first one hundred days. After dessert, they get out an American flag, crumple it up on the floor, and jump up and down on it, shouting "Death to Capitalism, Death to America."

Golly, I thought the problem was when Michelle got up on the table and did a strip tease while Barack and the other radicals and terrorists yelled "Burn, baby, burn."

All the LA Times has to do to prove me wrong is to release the tape. What have they got to hide?

Please don't mix them up, the savvy rich; they are not to be confused within the counting of the great swell in voter registrations. It is a good chance they have exercised their voting rights all along.

I am talking about the great unTiVo'ed, the masses, the unknown energized. They, when questioned haven't a clue about anything- except maybe how to fake a good insurance claim  and of course, how the public assistance system works.

Let's talk about how Obama's going to accomplish his term of miracles. He will go line by line and fix it all. Well, great, wish I thought of that.

He probably won't be the end of America as we know it, but I still say he owes a bite load to Oprah. We'll just have to wait and see how many times she shows up at the Whitehouse next year. Unless my prayers come true.

RPK, in 1998 McCain, as Chairman of the International Republican Institute, granted $448,873 to Khalidi when he asked for money to spend in the West Bank for his Center for Palestine Research and Studies.  Obama, sitting on the Woods board, granted Khalidi's organizations $80,000.

Beetree, are you saying that only the uneducated masses and those living on welfare will be voting for Obama? I think you are giving Oprah far too much credit, I don't know of many who ever watch her show anymore and of those who do, they don't care about her political views on anything. Sort of like saying Hank Williams JR is a hillbilly who is promoting McCain with his star power, isn't it?

I'm still waiting to hear exactly what McCain plans to do if he wins this year. I think if you'd delete all the rhetoric plus everything he and Sarah have said in their rallies that don't have anything to do with fixing the economy, the number one concern of the uneduated masses and those on welfare, or that don't refer to Joe the plumber, we'd have a grand total of about 15 minutes  or less. They really need to get some new material.

Can somebody tell me why this guys birth name wasn't good enough for him? Why he chose as far from an American name as he could, why he doesn't wear the flag pin, why he doesn't solute or honor the flag or our National anthem? Why the fuck he even wants to be President if the US offends him so much? These are all serious questions by the way, not my way of making a point. Just to me the man seems very anti-American anything, what is his aggenda really?

by Blitzen on 31 October 2008 - 14:10

He didn't pick his name, his parents named him. As he said on TV, his middle name was picked by someone who obviously didn't think he'd ever run for President. His birth certificate clearly states  his birth name as Barak Hussein Obama II and yes, he was born in ths US, Hawaii.

He does wear the flag pin. Look at the video from the debates. He wore one, McCain didn't. He also salutes the flag. The stories that he doesn't were proven incorrect months ago but they still linger on the net.

Why do you think America offends him?

by Blitzen on 31 October 2008 - 15:10

BTW the latest on Obama via bloger,  Pam Geller, is that he's the love child of Malcomb X . She has some very interesting reasons for saying that including his father,  born in Kenya, could not  have possibly produced a son with the physical features of Obama. She insists he looks much more like Malcomb X.

And  you guys say this election isn't all about race? Do you really think the polls were be nearly as close as they are if Obama were a WASP? Keep telling yourself that...............

Well what I see in him when he talks, is obviously different than what you see Blitzen. I feel he is an arrogant ass, can't relate to many, wants to run the world on his terms. Just like every other political jerk, once in office he will do what suits him. Don't worry, I'm not voting for the other Douch either. McCain has really let me down the last couple months. I'm writting in.

For me color is mute, I don't like the feeling I get listening to Obama speak, his wife...I won't even go there.

The pins...he had to make up his own, at least he stuck with red, white and blue. Sorry but from what I have seen, read, felt, I don't get the cult like following.

Ah yes Barry was probably an easier name to carry around as a child.

Still...can't explain this one away. http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/anthem.asp

Why anyone would want to be politician is beyond me? Worse than lawyers. $600million+ dollars? Why didn't you spread that wealth around asshole? Aggenda aggenda aggenda!

by beetree on 31 October 2008 - 16:10

 Blitzen,

No, I think so many people of all walks of life are voting for Obama! Including those corralled by organizations like ACORN, who are counting on the disenfranchised, fringe of society but still eligible voters, who probably couldn't name the capitals of five states, to vote for Obama. I am talking landslide here, the votes have to come from somewhere, and the numbers game tells them, the more registrants they get will equal more Obama votes.

And my question is, does he deserve this based on his record alone? Or has he had a powerful backer, that got his name out, his message, (there really isn't a body of accomplishment to fall back on) . I know Oprah  set the torch on fire for him a long time ago, and I believe she is the reason everyone, rich or poor and all those in between know his name today. She doesn't need to carry the torch anymore, obviously. She is a force for making careers and fortunes for others. JMHO

How else can anyone explain Obama's meteoric rise to political fame? Who wants to bet Oprah will be one of the first guests invited to dinner at the Whitehouse?
