Go figure, Sue, Clinton has impeachment charges filed against him partially due to his having had sex in the White House (what's new about that anyway) and Bush gets thousands of Americans killed and maimed  fighting an unnecessary war and no impeachment charges?  Maybe they decided they didn't really want Cheney ?

I'll stay away from the political side of this only to comment about the original post.

OPRAH !!!    Who give's a shit about Oprah.

Most powerful?

Oh well it gave me a chuckle.

Sue:

Name 1 thing I posted in the above mentioned passage that can,t be found in the congressional record???... Larry Craig is a low life and should never come out of his hole but he is not the leader of the free world getting a blow job from a young intern in the oval office and then Lie about it infront of congress what a great moral leader there I hope you hold his morality to your children.

Blitzen:

The reason he is not infront of a impeachment hearing on the war was because ...(every body waiting!!!) CONGRESS APPROVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So to impeach him would mean 98 percent of congress would have to go...

Wait! thats not a bad idea...

Let,s not forget that The Democrats ran and took back the house and senate in 06 on the promise that they were going to stop the war by God dead in it,s tracks. all they had to do was not fund it they had the votes but were cowards and paper tigers and folded like a deak of cards.

Hadn't thought of it that way, Bob. I guess they'd have had to self-impeach, eh?

LOL...I tought this was about the O'Reilly Factor LOLOL!!!

I think he has more effect than Oprah..

Altought i'm much more democrat oriented I do watch it every night..I think he is fair and balance compare to others at Fox and all the CNN political team..What a bunch of Idiots pro-Obama. I just can't watch them anymore.

I don't think Oprah is a big factor but media sure are...This was a dirty campaign and most favor Obama.  During the primaries and against McCain.

And again spending 600millions..ouch..I would be ashame of myself to spend that much money campaining, preaching to redistribute the wealth. I think both candidates sucks.. But I would never vote for Mccain because of Palin.  i tought Mitt Romney was a far beter choice regarding the economy issue.

I'm glad here in Canada we had the choice between a Moron or a Moron...Guess what..we chose a Moron!!

It's your turns now my Friends..

Bob, you have outdone yourself in terms of revisionism. How about some facts for a change?

Housing bubble? This link will show you that it occurred  almost entirely on Bush's watch:

seekingalpha.com/article/52136-case-schiller-home-price-index-still-no-good-housing-news

To the extent that Clinton advocated "cheap money" why did Bush not do a thing to reverse that policy after he took office? He was asleep at the switch - like he was during Katrina.

North Korea, after all the Bush bluster, he got around to negotiating with North Korea just as Clinton did.

NAFTA? Bush backed it - and wanted to extend it to South America but faced opposition so it ended that initiative.

Iraq? The situation was contained when Bush took office but he had to do the macho thing and remove Saddam thinking that it would be a cake-walk. But this is a guy who did not know a Sunni Muslim from a Shia Muslim. He even said he thought all Muslims were the same! So now we have Iran - which is primarily Shia - in a powerful position in relation to Iraq. Sadaam was Sunni and was despised by Iran. All of this does not even take into account the false claims of WMD, the cost in American and Iraqi lives and the hundreds of billions of dollars we have spent on the war.

Clinton's involvement with an intern - who gives a damn? Really Republicans  love to pontificate about morality especially as regards sex and marriage but when push comes to shove, they are the biggest hypocrites. Even as Gingrich was assailing Clinton, he was having an affair with one of his staff. The same with Bob Livingstone who had to resign from Congress after his affair surfaced. The sanctity of marriage is something that some Republicans talk about but when it comes to walking the walk, it all goes by the wayside. McCain dumped his first wife, Guliani is married three times - including telling his second wife about his intention to divorce her in a public announcement. Senator Vitter moralized about Clinton and then frequented prostitutes. I could name several more. Democrats are no saints but they don't spend their time pontificating about moralilty even as they are living a lie.

Blitzen (and Two Moons,)

It is just an observation of mine, the correlation between Oprah and Obama. IF Oprah hadn't "discovered" Obama, he never would have made it to the Illinois Senate – straight to the top of the Dems, supposedly to fill the job of the most powerful person in the US. I merely state she has the ability to name presidents, and mobilize masses, what is more powerful that? That is if McCain doesn't pull an upset after all.

Also, I  so many people, claim to be staunchly anti-Oprah, and the irony of a an Obama president being one of her "favorite picks" just strikes me with mirth. I always felt Obama could beat McCain, whereas Hillary would not. Obama's droning voice is starting to make me zone out because he doesn't say anything that I see as viably succeeding. Palin is still a risky pick IMO because her strengths have been trivialized in the short time she's burst on the scene. The woman doesn't bother me the way Hillary did. And I actually admire Oprah for her basic decency and philanthropy. She's big on leadership mentoring. Her weight issues are her problem, I got my own. lol

Anyway, I think everyone should exercise their right to vote, shocked to hear you plan to sit this out, Blitzen.

Blitzen,

I believe Clinton was impeached because he LIED to a grand jury, not because he had sex. He is a lawyer and well aware of the penalties for perjury.

When Clinton lied, Nobody died.  And yep, Bush & his cronies were able to pull the wool over a lot of peoples eyes.   Why?  Greed and so that baby Bush could do something his daddy couldn't.  Pretty sick.

BeeTree, in searching the Internet I can find nothing that substantiates  your premise that Obama got his start from Oprah, nor can I find anywhere that illustrates your premise that people are voting for Obama solely because Oprah told them to.  I wonder what is validating either point for you?

by Bob McKown on 31 October 2008 - 21:10

You have no intrest in politicians religous values? Then why question Geore talking to God I do it all the time "God pleases keep Obama out of office" If you are going to talk about people dieing then Blamr all of congress or the largest percentage of them they lef it happen all they had to do was say NO.

And a president of the united states must be held to a higher standard, higher then congress and he should exemplify that standard getting your johnson smoked in the oval office by a young intern isn,t morally justifiable unless you are married to her,

If the congress were picked my way No one making over 100 grand a year could be elected and term limites on the house and senate of 2 terms only and they lose benifits wheb the times up.
