Steve1,

I would have to see pics of the pups once they arrive,  it is still really hard to tell.  I am the breeder on 3 of the 4 dogs pictured above, and Rookie litter was the first I have had black sables.  TJ's litter were all red sables, he is out of the same female as Rookie, that only produced sables, TJ's sire was black and red, showline.  Where Rookies was solid black..

Some people claim "black sable" I think because its the IN thing right now,  but not many are what I consider a black sable.

Rookie was born just about as close to black as a solid black.  I have pictures from all ages if you would like to see them?

Here is a puppy pic of my male when he was 9 weeks old.

Here he is at 4mo old. I would call him a dark sable. He has a rich red color also. His sire is a blanket blk/tan and his dam is a dark sable.

Vast majority of dogs here are dark NOT black sable IMO. True black sables are very rare.

Red or tan sables comes through usually by having very richly pigmented black and tans or bi-colours in the ancestry.

OT- snajper- I had the pleasure of meeting Carol and when you look that dog in the eye you can see how strong but completely clearheaded he is. Just a gentleman around the house, and he was a total sweetheart with my daughter.  He fits my bill of the "total dog" for sure.

T/Carol just looked up from his basket bed and told me to thank you for the kind words.

I am a little disappointed that he, like Pallo (really great dog with an awesome pedigree in his day) has not been used much by people in this country. He from a kennel with 50+ yrs. of consistently breeding excellent and beautiful working line dogs, but still largely unknown over here. He is completely free of Fero and Mink. He produces very good looking dogs with excellent nerves and strong working ability. I only have a couple of females, don't breed many litters. Its a shame that, like his great-uncle Pallo, (only used a few times for breeding in the 7 years I had him) T will die one day in my arms, more or less having been wasted in this country. The good news is that their bloodlines are and will continure to be alive and very well, thank you, here with me, in Germany and other parts of the world, through their own progeny and through the progeny of their brothers and sisters, many of whom are at least equally impressive, but better appreciated in their own land than here.

Happily, I didn't import either one of them with high hopes of making any money on stud fees. I just fell in love with them and brought them home to live with me, and live on in my own breeding program... forever.

T is a good looking dog, never seen him my self but I do hope I will get the chance one of those days. :) I agree with you Shelley is a shame when a good dog is not used enough. There are a lot of dogs that go to waste in this country so many people focus only on what's hot that day. I hope I will get a chance to own one of his pups one day. It would be an honor to  own a true good looking working dog like him.

Really NICE looking sables all around,

I really love watching the video's of the Jirkova Dvora dogs, they are amazing!

Let's lighten things up a bit.....

Boy that Rookie got very dark, and sooooooo  handsome!
TJ is also very handsome, so that's a DDR/Showline nice......
Brix got very dark also, I think she's somewhat related to Theo & Virgo, she's of course, also Beautiful!

This is Virgo von Ryan (light gray),>and her half brother Theo Von Ryan,he's more gold underneath his top coat.
