Photos of Sables requested, clarification of "black sable" vs. "red sable" etc - Page 6

She looks to be a black sable.  She is still very dark, compared to her brothers.  VERY CUTE little girl..  Please continue to share pictures with me..  I would love to see her mature.

I think the best way I can figure to tell an adult black sable, IMO is they have no lighter hair at the withers,  Not the neck area, but behind the withers on top of the back.  The ones that tend to lighten and have lighter hair there,  IMO are not black sables.

Thanks for the compliments on Rookie.  And Brix and TJ, as they are both from my breedings, but no longer my dogs, but forever my family.  hehe.. 

There are some very gorgeous sables on here.

I have a question about the eyes on the dog on the right, are they really that dark, or just dilated by the light?  

Steve from what I can tell about the pic your female going to look exactly like the dam and sire.

Funny you ask,  they bought the sable pup from me to be a seeing eye dog to their old male, Cody.  Cody has Pannus and is blind.  He and Gunner are best of buds and Cody is so happy now that they have Gunner,  Gunner helps him find his way around the house and the yard.

Theo went to visit the elderly today, he was a big hit, he loves to roll over, and Dana, since she has her first
litter of pups, is attached to my leg, she's a great mom, but she has gotten very close to me, cause the pups
are in the computer room, also, I feed her LOTS, since she's taking care of 11 pups!   I can only hope she'll
follow me around like she does now when we do formal obedience

Firefly, is that dog you posted in the database?  I'd love to see his pedigree...

Thanks for the input. I am going over to the breeders this morning to see the Pup and hopefully tale a couple of Photos which if i can get them to go put them on this thread

I have to pick up a couple of Tickets from him for tomorrows Interland Schutzund Championship between Belgium and Holland

The great 'Zender'  is competing for Belgium, should be a good day, weather permitting
