My point is subjectivity must be out - only then will people feel it is transparent.

If you look around you the games that are popular are those where subjectivity is out. Take football, cricket, baseball, golf etc etc. Look on the animal front- horse races- the winner is because he came first. Not because ONE MAN felt he was the best. Look at Polo- the goal has to be scored on horseback. No subjectivity.

When this is done, automatically the game becomes more popular and every thing attached to it grows. It becomes more popular because everybody feels he has a chance at producing  a winner. Winning dogs will not be the inheritance of the wealthy and the old kennels. When growth is there, money is made the fair way. So you will have better puppy prices because more and more people would want that dog, you would have more and more specialised handlers and trainers because there would be an all round demand. Consequently since more people would want the GSD the demand for leashes, bite sleeves etc will increase. All this will mean a big thrust to the demand for this dog sport.

The dog game would also improve because judging will have a very firm and strong foundation of clear winners. For example the dog that wins on stamina would have won because he lasted xx kms of trotting and did not falter and start limping. The dog that did the best gaiting won because he was the best. Now when these dogs produce we will get something with the working qualities of ther German Shepherd Dog.

Now coming to looks there could a different analysis based on a point system. All that you feel important could be in the grid on the point scale.

Think about it. It is important. It is not just important to control the dogs' height at the withers but to improve the dog as an animal species which Capt. Max intended it to be.

THE DOWNSIDE IS THAT THE PRESENT WINNERS MAY NEVER WIN. So this change will never be easy.
