is there a reason to enter a dog without a pedigree?i wonder how much web space is wasted when this happens...pedigree research has been a hobby for me for well over 10 years, and my intrest spans any and all types of GSD'S,ROTTIES,DOBES,this is a very valuable resource....so,keep me from pulling out my last remaining strands of hair from my "comb-over"...post a complete pedigree...please!

To sum it up...they probably did not know how difficult it is to update and put a pedigree on here if you find out none of the dogs are registered here or do not have good pedigrees.....terribly long hours to find all the dogs and enter everyone of them....I had one or two missing on titled dogs and that was a long hard chore to connect them all and find out who was missing.....off this base....then to find all the info and go backtracking is a lot of long hours....maybe that is what has happened.....

I get it Roger,I've been working on one off and on for a couple of months now,Like Yellowrose says it's a time consuming pain.It really gets me when one side is a well known line and the other is all no info boxes.   just have to roll up the sleeves and wade in,I don't know of another way, but if anyone does I'd sure like to hear it

Sometimes I will enter a single dog/bitch to add to an existing pedigree where there is a blank further back in the line.

I entered those dogs, incidentally.

These dogs are AKC-registered and were in shows years ago, with sire & dam info.  They are in the catalogs; they are registered somewhere; in this case, AKC.

I am very big on pedigrees - I have done it with racehorses, years on end.  I am well aware how "painful" it is, especially with a site that's not extremely user-friendly and requires CHECKING to ensure no DUPLICATES (that's MY huge pet peeve).  However, I don't know why it's so terrible to enter a dog whose pedigree is not yet known by the entrant - perhaps someone else will find this dog and put in the pedigree (as I myself have done, incidentally).

Meanwhile, I also have my beloved dog's pedigree "not complete" because I cannot yet dig up some of the 8th-generation-back info.  Over the last years I have managed to add to it and connect to dogs already well-known and/or in the DB; but not every single thread yet.  I put in the unknowns because a) it's info that might be helpful to someone and b) someone might be able to put in the link.
