I understand what you're trying to say, MVF, and I agree that there is bias in our legal system and that people are sometimes falsely accused and/or arrested.  I have been myself but the time and place to confront those issues is in court, not with law enforcement and certainly not by fleeing.  While not perfect, we have to trust our legal system to do its job as the only other alternative is anarchy.

Keith, very well put. This is why we have courts, police is there only to apprehend not to be the executioner. So you run, you get what you deserved.

You know what; if white mayor's white daughter would do the same thing and if she would be the same threat level as these idiotic guys were, then  I would  expect that she would not  get any different treatment then they  have got. I know of several occasions where   white women got subdued by police dog. It happened here in AZ just a few days ago. If you do bad things and then run than police sends dog after you, then what ever happens after that is your fault.
     Be good. Do not be a scum of the society. Obey the law. Do not steal. Do not run from police. And you will not have to kill a police dog in order to protect your brother. I guarantee you that if I, or probably you too, would be living in that particular neighborhood, or any neighborhoodfor that matter,  that I would not have to kill a police dog. That is because I would never try to do what those idiots did. I am baffled by reasoning like that.
    Do you comprehend concept of right and wrong?  FYI: Theft is wrong. I can't believe that I am having this conversation.

This is a Joke, but sort of "ties into" the opinions of MVF......
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Difference Between The Liberal and Conservative

Question: You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small
children.  Suddenly, a dangerous looking man with a huge knife comes around
the corner and is running at you while screaming obscenities. In your hand
is a .357 Magnum and you are an expert shot.  You have mere seconds before
he reaches you and your family.  What do you do?

Liberal Answer:  Well, that's not enough information to answer the question!

You're looking for simple solutions to complex issues.
* Does the man look poor or oppressed?
* Have I ever done anything to him that is inspiring him to attack?
* Could we run away?
* What does my wife think?
* What about the kids?
* Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand?
* What does the law say about this situation?
* Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me?
* Does he definitely want to kill me or would he just be content to wound me?
* If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was stabbing me?

- This is all so confusing!  I need to debate this with some friends for a few days to try to come to a conclusion.

Conservative Answer:  Shoot the son of a bitch!  Then take your family to a
baseball game, eat some hot dogs with apple pie, sing the national anthem,
go to church and praise the Lord for one more day of freedom.

Hmm, I'm thinking you'd be surprised just how many teenagers do steal, I bet even your children have, stolen something or another.  Would they run, you betcha.  Are they evil? Not necessarily, sometimes they do it for fun, or because they  can, not because they need it.

Uh, I think so.

I'm pretty sure my children never broke into anyone's home, ran from law enforcement or strangled a police dog.

Well, stealing is stealing.....different circumstances such as Shoplifting (which some people think is "just fine to do" because the Companies make too much money anyway !!)    But these street thugs put a Brick through a Homeowner's  window!!    I can say without any equivocation that my kids NEVER did anything remotely like that.   Also, I don't believe that they ever shoplifted -- if they did, it was never brought to my attention by Law Enforcement.

Also, I have never stolen anything from anybody.

the penalty for harming a k9 should be much more severe.
