Does anyone have any recommendations regarding regular dog crates (not metal). My dog has gone through 2 crates in the last 2.5 months.  He gets quite worked up during bite training sessions on field and paws at the door trying to get out. The door latches seem to just fall apart. Thanks!

I feel for you (and me), I have one that also gets out of a locked wire crate!

you need to get an aluminun crate or one made with expanded metal, regular crates are not designed to contain dogs under those conditions

Have you tried the jumbo vari kennel? The door secures in 4 places and seems to withstand a lot.

My buddy just solved this same problem very cheaply.  He bought some angle bar from the hardware store and attached two strips to the door.  The door won't flex, so it can't pop out.

I welded two 3/4 inch sqaure tubing to door of vari kennel  then I went 1 step farther and made a 1/2 rod made to go through tubing.. 98% of dogs won't get out of that

Is there anything you can do to a vari crate if you have one that chews out?
